The Development Management Institute (DMI), established in the year 2014 is an autonomous management institute. The institute offers a two-year full-time PGDM program. The program is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

Admission to the flagship two-year full-time PGDM (Post-Graduate Programme in Development Management) of DMI is based on Management entrance exams CAT/ XAT/ GMAT/ CMAT/ MAT. Eligibility for admission to the PDM course is graduation in any discipline.

DMI Patna PGDM Eligibility: 

Candidates applying should have successfully completed a minimum of 3-year graduation in any discipline with at least 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ST candidates).

DMI Patna PGDM Selection Process:

Valid score in CAT / XAT / GMAT / CMAT / MAT.

Note: Sponsored candidates have to meet the eligibility criteria and apply for the PGDM course like other candidates but cannot avail of placement support.

Such candidates can opt for a Certificate in Development Management (CDM) at the end of the first year. If sponsored to continue, the CDM holders will have the option to rejoin DMI within three years and complete the second year of the program to obtain PGDM (DM).

How to Apply for DMI Patna?

Candidates seeking admission to PDM course have to apply online by following steps:

  • Register for CAT/ XAT/ GMAT/ CMAT/ MAT entrace exam.
  • Fill in the application form at official website of DMI Patna by providing the correct credentials.
  • Pay the required application fee Internet Banking/ Debit/ Credit card/ UPI for online payment of application fee.
  • Attach scanned copies of all the required documents.
  • An auto-generated Application Number will be allotted on successful submission of the online Application form.
  • Preserve a copy of the filled-in Application Form for further correspondence.

Documents required:

  1. 10th, 12th & Graduation mark sheets.

  2. Any Valid document for identity proof (Aadhaar/ PAN/ Passport/ Driving License/ Voter Card). 

  3. Category/caste certificate, issued by a competent authority of the Government of Bihar, as applicable.

  4. Residential proof for applicants claiming Domicile of Bihar.

  5. Disability certificate (for Differently-Abled (DA) Person).

  6. Registration details of any one of the Management Admission Tests; CAT / XAT / GMAT / CMAT / MAT for 2023 admissions.

  7. Work experience certificate, if any. 

  8. Certificate of Sports / Extra-Curricular Activity, 10+2 onwards, if any.

Q. What are the average/cut-off marks for selection in PGDM?

Ans. The selection in DMI is on a merit basis and the top 60 candidates (considering the Bihar reservation policy for educational institutions) who have performed exceptionally well and received the highest marks will be offered the admissions to PDM Programme.

Q. Which scorecard will be considered if I provide both (CAT & MAT) scorecards?

Ans. For the consideration of the scorecard for evaluation purposes, either the candidate has to confirm on the selection day (GE & PI) or, the Institute will consider the scorecard in which the candidate has scored a maximum and is valid for the particular admissions year.

Q. Can DMI arrange my GE/PI in another state?

Ans. If DMI organizes the GE/ PI in other states, it will be well communicated to the candidates in advance, and also the tentative schedule will be uploaded on the website.

Q. What are the educational requirements for the PGDM program?

Ans. Minimum 3-year Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in any discipline, with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/DA candidates) in aggregate from a recognized University/Institute by UGC/ AICTE. Students appearing for their final year degree examination may also apply.

Ans. The process of admission for the Post-Graduate Programme in Development Management (PGDM) starts with an Admissions Notification by the Institute in the newspapers; other print and electronic media; and the website of the Institute. The notification is issued from October – to November for the batch commencing its program in the month of June 2020.
