Burdwan University Campus Facilities 

Burdwan University address is located in Burdwan Rajbari, Raiganj in Bardhaman. The campus is 101 km away from Howrah Railway Station and about 105 km away from Netaji Subhas Chandra Airport, Kolkata. The nearest railway station to the university is Burdwan Junction, which is well-connected with all parts of the country. 

Burdwan University campus is spread over 316 acres of a sprawling campus, which is comprised of a library, Computer Centre, University Health Centre, University Science Instrumentation Centre, Central Instrumentation Facility, National Academic Depository, Meghnad Saha Planetarium, Placement and Students Welfare Office, Museum and Art Gallery, Krishnasayer Eco Park and Crop Research, Departmental buildings and Seed Multiplication Farm. 

Burdwan University Central Library is well-stocked with more than 1,58,962 books, 24,812 journals, 1,983 reports, 500 microfilms, 918 reprints, CD ROMs and over 300 Indian and foreign journals, which cater to the needs of the students, outside scholars, faculty members of the affiliated colleges, students of other universities and ex-students of the university.

The central library is housed in the two-storied building of Golapbag campus. Apart from the central library, in the Golapbag campus, there are 19 departmental libraries. There is a museum and art gallery in the Burdwan University campus where antiquities, as well as art objects, are kept dated from C, 1500 BC to the 19th century AD. 

Along with that, the museum houses 1,918 pieces of artefacts including ancient coins of gold-silver-copper, stone sculptures bronze figures, painting of the Indo-European school,  brass and alloy, terracotta figures and figurines, Pata Chitra, terracotta plaques, wood carvings, beads, potteries manuscripts, stone inscriptions, objects of folk art, copper plate inscription, old photographs and prints.

Students, scholars and general viewers can visit the museum to enrich their knowledge in the field of Ethno-Archaeology or Sculptural study. Burdwan University provides all sorts of basic facilities to make its student’s life easier at the campus.
