BITS Pilani Admission Procedure

Today BITS Pilani holds a rank of 25th in the college rankings of NIRF 2019. It is counted amongst the top colleges in India. Since its year of establishment 1956, it has been maintaining its magnificent education standard. To secure a seat in this college one has to work really hard. BITS Pilani has its own criteria for admission.

  • For getting admission in B.E. course the applicants must pass 10+2 examination with a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects, and at least 60% marks in each of the subjects individually. The candidate needs to appear for Birla Institute of Technology and Science Aptitude Test or BITSAT and the final selection is done on the basis of BITSAT Score.
  • For M.E. course the student needs to have a B.E. or equivalent degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate. The final selection is conducted through the score of Birla Institute of Technical Science Higher Degree Admission Test, which is also called BITS HD.
  • For the PhD programme, the candidates need a degree of Masters in Technology from BITS or its equivalent with a minimum of 60% aggregate in the qualifying examination. Candidates with a B.E. or an equivalent degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate may also be considered for PhD admission subject to their suitability and competence.
