BPSC 2018 Exam Information

BPSC is the Bihar Public Service Commission. It came into existence on April 1, 1949, as soon as Bihar was separated from Orissa and Madhya Pradesh. In the beginning, the headquarter of the commission was at Ranchi and later on, it was shifted to Patna. The current head of BPSC is Sri Shishir Sinha. The current strength of the commission is nearly six as of now. The role of the state public commission is listed is to recruit suitable candidate for various posting by conducting a series of recruitment process, to give advice to the government regarding the transfer and promotion of the existing government officer, to advice government to frame a proper set of rules and regulation for the recruitment process, to advice government on certain matter received from the governor of Bihar, to advise government based on the disciplinary activity.

BPSC does the recruitment process for most of the exams in three stages like Prelims written test, main written test, and Interview. Apart from the recruitment the commission also plays a role in giving promotions to the governmental officials with the help of Departmental promotion committee based on the rules framed by the state government. It also submits an annual report to the Government of Bihar yearly. Their official website is http://www.bpsc.bih.nic.in/Default.htm. The notification and stuff will be given in Hindi.

BPSC 64th combined competitive Examination 2018 is officially declared. It is conducted to select candidates under various postings in a number of departments for nearly 1395 vacancies. It is also known as Bihar civil service examination or PCS Examination. It is conducted in three stages like the Preliminary exam, Main exam, and Interview. As of now the notification for the preliminary exam is out. BPSC 2018 Exam Date

The aspirant must be aware of the important dates. He/She shouldn’t miss any of the important processes. The aspirant must note down all the important dates in his daily calendar. The online fee payment will start at 11 a.m on the date mentioned below.

BPSC 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Any candidate who desires to take up the exam should fulfill the eligibility criteria listed in the rules list. If not the candidate will not be qualified for that particular post. The Eligibility criteria include Age, Nationality, Number of attempts, Educational Qualification. The brief description of the eligibility criteria is given below.

NATIONALITY

The aspiring candidates should be a citizen of India. There is no restriction regarding the domicile. So the candidate residing in any state can apply for the exam. The main criteria are that the candidate must hold Indian citizenship.

AGE

The age limit is an important criterion for any posts. The upper age limit and the lower age limit varies among the posts and the reservations. The age limit is calculated as on August 1, 2018. The minimum age limit for most of the posts is 22 years. There are exceptions to this which is listed in the below table along with the maximum age limit.

BPSC 2018 Registration

The registration process varies for all the exam. The offline application process is not available. The registration for BPSC 64th Combined Competitive Exam is opened an application process goes like this.

Initially, the candidate should register for the exam through online mode. Then the candidate should pay the fees. He/She can fill in the application form only after the registration and payment of fees. The candidate who clears the prelims exam should fill up a separate application form for the main exam. However, the optional subject in the main exam should be filled up when applying for the prelims exam. The registration process will get over by 30th August after which only the registered candidates will be allowed to fill in the application for prelims. The candidate must possess a valid mail ID and phone number before registering for the exam.

  • In the official page press the online registration tab.
  • Strike apply online button given under the 64th combined Civil Service Exam.
  • Enter the valid details like Name, Contact details such as the mobile number and a valid mail ID. The Mail Id and the mobile number must be active till the end of the recruitment process.
  • Then press the submit
  • Note down the registration ID and the respective password. It will be generated automatically.

The exam is conducted in paper and pen mode. The duration is 2 hours. The exam is based on multiple choice questions (MCQ). Prelims exam is the gateway to enter the main exam.

BPSC 2018 Admit Card

The admit card can be downloaded from the official website 10 days before the conduct of the exam. It will be available till December 14th. It is mandatory to carry the admit card to the venue of the exam without which the candidate will not be allowed to take up the exam. The exam center will be within the state of Bihar. BPSC 2018 Result

The result of the 64th Combined civil service exam will be declared on their official page after the commencement of the exam. So the candidate should update the official website frequently. The candidate qualified in the prelims will be allowed to apply for the main exam. The candidate clearing the mains will be allowed to appear for the interview. The results of the main exam will be declared only after the commencement of the main exam. The final merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the main exam and their performance in the interview. The candidate will be asked for the preference of the postings during the interview process. And the allotment of the postings will solely depend on the merit list. The documents will be verified during the interview process. So the candidate must bring all the original copy to the venue where the interview will be held. BPSC Cutoff

The deciding factor for any exam is the cut off mark. The candidate must score at least a minimum mark to get qualified in that particular exam. The cut off will vary for every year. It should be noted that cut off will vary among the reservation and sometimes among the gender. The candidate can check the cut off mark in the official website after every exam. There is a concession for the grandchildren’s of the freedom fighters of Bihar.

The commission will fix the minimum qualifying Mark for the prelims exam which they will display in the official website. But the marks of the prelims exam will not be considered for the preparation of the merit list. It will serve as the entry ticket to the main exam. For the main exam, the candidate must score a minimum of 30% in Hindi. But that is not cutoff mark. The cut off for all the subjects will be displayed on the official website soon after every exam.
