ABOUT SYMBIOSIS INSTITUTES

Symbiosis International University(SIU) is located in Pune, Maharashtra. The 2002 established institution is a deemed university. It is recognized by the UGC, the AICTE, and the MHRD. SIU is a NAAC ‘A’ graded institution.

The SIU campus comprises of two different locations: the Symbiosis Main Campus, located within the city grounds and the Symbiosis Knowledge Village (more commonly known as the hilltop campus), located at Lavale.

There are many different institutes in SIU, such as SIBM, SIMC, SSP, SSBF and SITM at the Lavale campus, and the other institutes all located on the main campus.

NOTIFICATION FOR SNAP 2019

The official information about SNAP 2019 has come out on August 2, 2019. The announcement speaks about all the necessary steps from application to admission. It also contains a detailed procedure for registration, which is crucial as it can get quite confusing for first-time candidates.

Therefore, a candidate must download the official notification for SNAP 2019 shortly after it is released to ensure smooth and hassle-free registration, application, and examination process.

ELIGIBILITY

Before beginning the registration process, candidates need to check the eligibility criteria for SNAP 2019. If candidates fail to meet the eligibility criteria for SNAP 2019, their candidature will be cancelled. The registration fee is non-refundable.

The eligibility criteria are different for the categories of reservation, namely, Unreserved, SC/ST and Foreign Nationals.

In the following table, we will provide the eligibility criteria for the different groups of reservation.

General

 

●       Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in any stream with a minimum of 50% marks or its equivalent grade.

●       Candidates must be students of any institution that is nationally recognized.

 

SC/ST

 

●       Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in any stream with a minimum of 45% marks or its equivalent in the grading system.

●       Candidates must be students of a nationally recognized institution.

●       Candidates must be able to produce an original certificate of documentation of their identity as a member of the SC/ST community.

 

Foreign Nationals

 

●       Candidates must be a graduate from the Association of Indian Universities.

●       Candidates must be a student of an institution that is nationally recognized.

●       Candidates must have a score or grade that is equivalent to 50% marks in the Indian marking scheme.

Apart from these differentiated eligibility criteria, there are specific criteria that are common for all candidates, irrespective of their caste, creed or nationality. They are as follows:

  • Candidates must be a graduate from any organisation that is recognized by the Government of India.
  • There is No age limit for application to SNAP 2019.
  • Candidates who are appearing for their final examination are also eligible to appear for SNAP 2019. The admission in SIU will be provisional until they can produce a degree stating the completion of their degree course.
  • Foreign Nationals can also apply to SNAP 2019, providing that they clear the eligibility criteria set for foreign candidates.

REGISTRATION AND APPLICATION

The registration process for SNAP 2019 started on August 16, 2019. Till the year 2018, two days of the grace period was offered after the last date for registration for SNAP to pay the registration fees. However, this year, that facility has been withdrawn by the authorities. The registration dates and application dates are the same for SNAP 2019. The registration and application process can only be done in the online method, and the application is only considered successful after the payment of the registration fee.

How to Apply for SNAP 2019:

  • Log on to the official website for SNAP 2019 and create an account for yourself using the portal provided.
  • Enter some necessary details to register for SNAP 2019. Once you submit, you will receive your SNAP ID and password. Use these credentials to log in and begin the application process.
  • Upload a recent (not older than three months) coloured passport-sized photo of yourself.
  • Enter personal details such as your name, email ID and mobile phone number. Make sure you recheck the details before submission as they cannot be altered once submitted.
  • The registration and application fee is to be paid after this, using the portal provided on the SNAP website. The registration and application process is considered complete only after this process.
  • The correction window for the application form apart from the test centre preference is open till the last date of registration. Demands for change of test centre preference, however, will not be entertained; you must recheck those details before you submit the application form. Once the fee payment process is complete, the application form cannot be edited.

The registration fee for SNAP 2019 is 1750 INR and the payment, preferably, is to be made in the online mode. The registration fee can also be paid in the form of a DD. However, the DD must reach the institute before 5 PM on the last date of registration. This fee includes the registration fee, application form fee as well as the examination fee for SNAP 2019. The application fees for specific Symbiosis Institutes, however, are separate. The application fee for MBA programmes at specific institutes is 1000 INR per MBA programme.

SYLLABUS

The syllabus for SNAP 2019 can be broadly divided into three main categories.

  • General English: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC) and Verbal Reasoning.
  • Analytical and Logical Reasoning
  • Data Sufficiency, Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation

EXAMINATION PATTERN

SNAP 2019 is a computer-based test that is to be conducted in the online mode in designated test centres across 90 cities. Candidates are required to answer 115 questions in total within 2 hours. The 115 problems are spread over four broad sections: VARC, QADI, LR. There are 110 MCQs and five non MCQ questions (only in the QADI section). The sectional break of the problems is in the underlying table.

  • SNAP 2019 is a computer-based examination.
  • The examination is for 2 hours.
  • There are 115 questions in total, spread over four broad sections: VARC, QADI, LR and CA.
  • There are 110 standard MCQ type questions with four options each and five non-MCQ special questions, only in the QADI section. These questions will not have any options and require the candidate to write the answer using the virtual keyboard.
  • There is no sectional cut off. Therefore, students can choose to focus on those sections, which they consider their stronger points.

RESULT

The result for SNAP 2019 will be declared on Friday, January 10, 2020. Candidates will receive an email announcing their percentile for SNAP 2019. Depending on their SNAP percentile, candidates will be assigned a college by SIU. After that, they must log in to their candidate portal and check their rank. If selected, candidates will be required to appear for the GDPIWAT (Group Discussion, Personal Interview, and Written Aptitude Test) round. If they clear this round, they will get a seat in a Symbiosis institution under SIU.
