RRB (Railway Recruitment Board) will take on the candidates for the posts of Junior Engineer (JE), Junior Engineer Information Technology (JE IT), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), Chemical and Metallurgical Assistant (CMA).

RRB exam is a golden opportunity for the candidates to fulfill their dream of joining the prestigious government sector. RRB has released the notification for about 13487 vacancies. The candidates who have an engineering background and looking for a government job can apply for RRB JE exam.

The candidates can apply through visiting the official website www.indianrailways.gov.in

The notification of RRB JE was released on 30th December 2018. The important dates are as follows:

The candidates appearing for the exam should fulfill the age limit criteria as of 1st January 2019, the minimum age limit of the candidates should be 18 years and maximum age limit should be 33 years.

B.Sc computer science / PGDCA / BCA / B.tech(IT) / B.tech computer science /DOEACC B level course of 3 years duration or equivalent from recognized university/ institute.

Chemical and metallurgical assistant

Bachelors degree in science with physics, chemistry with minimum 55% marks

Application fee:

  • For general candidates Rs.500/-
  • For SC / ST / PWD / Ex-serviceman / women / transgender / EBC / minorities Rs.250/-
  • Rs 400/- will be refunded to the general candidates and Rs 250/- will be refunded to the category candidates after the first stage of the computer-based test.

Exam pattern for RRB JE exam:

The entire recruitment shall involve 1st stage Computer-based test, 2nd stage also CBT, and document verification as applicable. The selection will be made strictly as per merit, on the basis of CBT.

First stage CBT:

 It is common for all the notified posts. The duration of the time is 90 minutes. The number of questions will be 100. The 1st stage CBT is screening nature and the standard of questions will be generally in conformity with the educational standards or minimum technical qualifications prescribed for the post. The 1st stage scores will be used only for the shortlisting of candidates for the 2nd stage.

Second stage CBT:

The Total number of candidates to be short-listed for 2nd stage shall be 15 times the community wise total vacancies of posts notified against the RRB as per the merit list in 1st stage CBT.

The number of questions in the 2nd stage is 150 and the duration is 120 minutes.
