UPSC CAPF 2019 Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

The candidate should be a citizen of India. If not he or she must get the consent from the central government in the written form to get employed. The candidates belonging to Nepal and Bhutan will not be appointed under any circumstances.

Sex

Both male and female are eligible for CAPF exam. The pregnant women are not eligible for the post as she will be disqualified in the medical examinations.

Age Limit

The aspirant must be born between 2nd August 1993 and 1st August 1998. His age limit must be between 20 to 25 years. The relaxation for SC/ST, Domicile of J & K from 1st Jan 1980 to 31st Dec 1989 and civilian central government servants including Ex-Servicemen is maximum of 5 years whereas for OBC it is upto 3 years.

The candidates will be given cumulative age relaxation when the Civilian central government servants or domicile of J & K come under category SC/ST or OBC. The candidate will be considered under Ex-Servicemen cadre only when he satisfies the rules under the Ex-Servicemen Rules, 1979. The candidate will be considered under the Civilian Central Government Servants only when he is accepted as Government servant under the Central Civil Service Rules 1965.

Apart from the above table, there will be no age relaxation under any category. The candidate must enter the correct Date of Birth in the application form. Once submitted DoB cannot be changed under any circumstances. The DoB found in the Leaving certificate of Matriculation or secondary school or in the certificate of the Indian University equivalent to the Matriculation certificate or an equivalent certificate of the Higher secondary leaving certificate must be entered.

Other certificates and documents like horoscopes, birth certificate issued by the municipality, service records will not be considered for the Proof of Date of Birth. During the certificate verification when the DoB entered in the application form is found to be different from that of the original certificate then disciplinary actions will be taken.

Educational qualification

The aspirant must have a bachelor degree from a university recognized by the central or state legislature of India or from any deemed university which is accepted by the University Grants Commission. The aspirants appearing for the bachelor degree exam in the current year and he/she has applied for the CAPF exam, will be eligible only if he/she is able to produce and upload his/her result certificate stating that he/she had passed the respective degree exam during the DAF application process. The candidate with technical qualification when treated as the technical degree by the government then such candidates can take up the UPSC CAPF exams.

Reappearance in the exam

When the candidate is selected as Assistant Commandant in the participating forces then he/she will not be eligible to appear in the subsequent exams of UPSC CAPF exam.

Experience in National Cadet Corps

The candidates served in NCC will be given preference when he/she produces B and C certificate at the time of interview.
