RRB ALP/Technician Exam 2019

Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released the official notification for RRB ALP examination for the year 2019. The RRB ALP recruitment drive for this year is to fill nearly 23801 vacancies for Assistant Loco Pilot and 36576 vacancies for Technicians in the Indian Railways and it will be conducted each year all over the country. The RRB ALP recruitment examination will be a written examination. The notification for RRB ALP will comprise the whole details regarding the registration dates; admit card dates, examination dates, and result dates.

Railway Recruitment Board conducts the RRB ALP/Technician exam for selection of candidates to the posts of Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) and Technician. As per CEN 01/2018, there are 27795 vacancies of Assistant Loco Pilot and 36576 vacancies for posts of Technicians.

The exam is conducted in 3-stages for ALP and 2-stages for Technician. The Second Stage CBT is set to take place from 12th – 14th December. 

RRB ALP Result 2018 for the First Stage (CBT) has been released by Railway Recruitment Board on 3rd November 2018. The merit list of shortlisted candidates has been published by region-wise RRBs based on merit and post preference. The list contains actual marks scored by candidate and normalised score along with post-preference. The shortlisted candidates can download call letter for the RRB ALP Second Stage CBT for RRB Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) and Technicians (Group C) four days before respective exam date.

RRB ALP 2019 Eligibility Criteria

The candidates must make sure that they are eligible to apply for the RRB Alp examination before applying for it. The applications of the eligible candidates will only be accepted by the exam board. Following are the eligibility criteria for the RRB ALP examination:

Age limit:

The candidates who wish to apply for the ALP posts must be between 18-30 years of age. 3 years of relaxation will be provided for OBC category candidates and 5 years for ST/ SC candidates in upper age limit.

Educational qualification:

It is mandatory that the candidates who are willing to apply for the RRB ALP & Technical posts the candidates must have passed their 10th standard and must possess ITI certification approved by SCVT/ NCVT or diploma in Engineering except for Civil disciplines or CSE.

The important factor to be considered by the candidates is that at any stage of the recruitment process, the candidature of the candidates might get canceled if they are found ineligible.

RRB ALP 2019 Registration

The candidates should go through the application form cautiously and then fill all the columns in the application form. The application forms must be submitted through online and the other forms of application forms will not be encouraged by the board.

The RRB ALP application process will comprise of the following steps:

The candidates can visit the official website of RRB and fill the basic online application form using the RRB ALP apply online 2019 link present on the website. After completing the above- mentioned step, your Registration ID and Password will be generated to your mobile phone and email id. The candidates must complete their application process before the last date for completion of the application form.

Once the application form is filled, the candidates should complete the application fee payment. Only after the application fee payment is done, the online application form of the candidates will be accepted.

RRB ALP Exam Pattern

The candidates who have applied for the RRB ALP examination must be aware of the RRB ALP exam pattern 2019 completely in order to prepare for the examination. The ALP examination will be conducted in either 2 or 3 stages based on the ALP or Technical preference. Stage 1 of ALP examination will comprise of 4 sections with a total of 75 questions for a time duration of 1 hour. The candidates who qualify in stage 1 will be allowed to appear for the next stage.  The RRB ALP stage 2 exam pattern will have 2 parts A & B. Part A will have General Intelligence & Reasoning, Mathematics, General Awareness on Current Affairs and Basic Science & Engineering with a total of 100 questions for a time duration of 1.5 hours. Part B of RRB ALP second stage exam pattern will have DGET with 75 questions for a period of 1 hour. Next is the CBAT (Computer Based Aptitude Test) where the candidates must score a minimum of 42 marks in each test batteries. Finally, after document verification process completed, the final merit list will be announced on the official website and the name of the candidates mentioned in the merit list will be declared as the shortlisted candidates for the ALP posts.

The RRB ALP syllabus will comprise of the topics covering all the sections that are included for the ALP examination. The candidates can download the RRB ALP syllabus 2019 from RRB ALP syllabus pdf download which will be available on the website.

While preparing for the exam, it is very much important for the candidates to check the syllabus for the exam clearly in order to cover the maximum of the topics while preparing for the exam. The RRB ALP exam syllabus will be given separately for the 1st stage and 2nd stage separately. The candidates must also know about the weight-age of marks provided for each topic and prepare for the exams accordingly.

  3. Provide your Registration Number & Date of Birth and click submit option
  4. Your admit card for RRB ALP will be available.

The candidates have to wait patiently for the RRB ALP result to be announced on the official website.
