The Prime Minister’s Research Fellowship scheme registration process will end soon. The PMRF is aimed at intaking the research talents for the doctoral (Ph.D.) programmes of Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs), Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and select Central Universities.

The scholarship is being given to the eligible candidates for doing research in cutting edge science and technology domains, with ‘focus on national priorities’. The registration can be done on the official website of PMRF. The last date to apply for PMRF December 2019 scheme is 15th October 2019.

The candidates whose application will get selected will be offered to pursue Ph.D. programme in the above-mentioned institutes along with the fellowship of Rs.70,000 per month for the first two years, Rs.75,000 per month for the third year, and Rs.80,000 per month in the fourth and fifth year.

Steps to apply for PMRF December 2019:

  • Visit the official website as mentioned above.
  • Click on the “PMRF December 2019” link.
  • Fill the application form.
  • Upload the document required.
  • Check and submit the application form.
  • Download and print the PMRF application form for future use.

Apart from the above-mentioned amount, a research grant of Rs.2.00 lakh per year will be provided to the selected candidates for a period of 5 years to cover their academic expenses and foreign or national travel expenses for attending the conferences.

Candidates who have finished or pursuing the final year of four year undergraduate or five-year integrated MTech or five-year integrated M.Sc. or five year undergraduate-postgraduate dual degree programmes or two-year M.Sc. programmes in Science and Technology branch from Institutes or University recognized in India will be eligible for taking admission to full time Ph.D. programme.
