Founded under the rule of Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV, the University Grants Commission (U.G.C.) approved Mysore University as a public state university situated in Mysore, Karnataka, India. With 180 affiliated colleges and 37 postgraduate departments, the University of Mysore was the first institute to be built outside the British administration in India. Apart from Mysore University, Mysore Open University is also located in Mysore, which was founded in the year 1996.

The University offers a Doctor of Philosophy degree in specializations like Applied Mechanics and Hydraulics, Chemical Engineering etc over a period of three years for a fee of INR 3 lakhs.

Results and Cut-off
Mysore University colleges announce the cut-off list of its various courses and disciplines once the results of the corresponding entrance tests are out.
