Madras University Scholarship

Financial challenges act as a barrier to the academic life of students who want to study further. Sometimes, it becomes impossible for the candidate to pursue college-level degree due to financial issues. Needless to say, there are many universities that provide a financial assistance scheme as a scholarship to the candidates who belong to the poor family.

The University of Madras, taking this into consideration, offers various scholarship programmes to enlighten the life of the deserving candidates with education.

The amount of scholarship offered is up to Rs. 50,000 that will be waived off from the total tuition fees of the candidate. However, there are a few eligibility criteria that students should fulfil to get the opportunity.

The scholarship will be provided to 15% of the candidates, whose selections will be based on the basis of merit in their last qualifying examination from Tamil Nadu and is admitted to the respective campus.

The scholarship facility will be provided to the candidates following the rules that have been framed for the very purpose.

A complete financial assistant of Rs.1,00,000 will be granted to the candidates whose family income is least. For PG courses, the total family income (parental income) of the candidates should be less than Rs. 1,00,000.

Apart from this, there are other scholarships offered to the candidates, the criteria for which may vary.
