Madras University Result and Cutoff

The cutoff marks are provided after conducting the entrance examination of any subject or on the basis of merit in the last qualifying examination. It is the minimum marks that are set by the university on the basis of the number of applying candidates, last years’ cutoff, the number of seats available and more.

For Madras University, the factors that decide the cutoff include previous year’s result, the number of seats vacant and the number of candidates who are appearing for the exams. The highest marks scored in the exam becomes the highest rank. The minimum number secured by the candidate becomes the minimum rank, which must be crossed by the candidate in order to get admission.

The cutoff of Madras University vary each year due to the factors it is decided upon. Following the reports of the year 2016, the final percentage based on TANCET cutoff for MBA in the general category was 56% while for the OBC and SC class, it was 52% and 50% respectively.

On the other hand, TANCET cutoff for the year 2016 for MCA course was 36% in the General category. For OBC, the minimum percentage was 24% and for SC, it was 32%. The cutoff of 2016 varies to that of the cutoff of its previous years.
