The University of Adelaide, commonly known as Adelaide University is a state-owned university located in Adelaide, South Australia. The university has a rich history of excellence of 140 years. It was established in 1874, definitely counted among the third oldest university in Australia. The university campus is located in North Terrace, one of the four terraces that bound the central business and residential district of Adelaide, which is a capital city in South Australia.

The university follows the motto ‘Sub Cruce Lumen’ which means light under the cross. The university was started with a noble goal to prepare young leaders for future irrespective of their birth, wealth or old world social and religion inequalities. The position of Vice-chancellor of the university was firstly headed by Dr Augustus Short with a vision to scrutinize new fields of sciences, modern literature, art and moral philosophy. These flagship degrees continue till today through curriculum evolving every year.
