Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology Scholarship to other UG students 

TIET offers need based scholarships to UG students pursuing BA, BBA, or BSc program at the institute. There are total 25 such scholarships available.

Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology ME/MTech Scholarship

Candidates admitted to Thapar University’s M.Tech / ME programme will be eligible for the scholarship based on the following criteria:

AICTE Scholarship: Candidates with valid GATE scores will be considered for scholarships only if they are approved and the amount is released by AICTE or another funding agency (applicable only for intake approved by AICTE).

Scholarship from TIET: Candidates with a valid GATE score who receive a scholarship from AICTE or another funding agency listed under ‘I’ above are also eligible for an additional scholarship of INR 5000/- per month from TIET.

Candidates with valid GATE scores who do not receive a scholarship from AICTE or any other funding agency listed in ‘I’ above will be offered a monthly scholarship of INR 12,400/-.

ME/MTech candidates who do not have a GATE score will be paid INR 10,000/- per month for ten months during the academic year. To be eligible for these scholarships, you must have at least 70% (65% for SC/ST) in your qualifying degree. A minimum of 8.00 CGPA at the end of the first year with no backlog will be required for continuation of the Scholarship in the second year.

Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology MSc Scholarship

Merit-based scholarships are awarded to general category students pursuing an MSc programme at Thapar University. A merit scholarship will be awarded only if there are at least five students registered in a discipline. The scholarship is awarded in the second semester based on first semester performance. Scholarships are awarded in the second year based on students’ performance in the first year.

Eligibility: Eligible students must have an AGPA of at least 8.00, no backlog in the year of consideration, and must have passed all courses offered in the semester(s) preceding the year of consideration.

Scholarship Value: The scholarship awarded in the second semester will cover the entire tuition fee. Half of the tuition fee will be waived in the third semester. In addition, a quarter of the tuition fee will be waived in the fourth semester.

Thapar Institute of Technology and Engineering Scholarships for MCA students are awarded to 10% of the admitted student body based on academic performance. The Thapar University MCA 1st year scholarship is awarded in the second semester based on performance in the first semester. The scholarship amount for the second year will be determined by the student’s performance in the first year.

Eligibility: Eligible students must have an AGPA of at least 8.00, no backlog in the year of consideration, and must have passed all courses offered in the semester(s) preceding the year of consideration.

The scholarship is worth INR 40,000 per year.

MBA students can apply for a scholarship from the Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology.

LMTSM provides 75 merit scholarships to MBA students with valid institute-based test scores or an NMAT by GMAC score. Scholarships are awarded to Thapar University MBA students based on their performance in the admissions evaluation process.
