Panjab University Hostels

A hostel is a home away from home, and Panjab University strives to provide safe, secure, and affordable accommodation for students from distant places. The campus has 21 residence halls: 8 for boys, 11 for girls, one for working women, and an international hostel, accommodating around 7600 students. These hostels are named after notable historical figures.

The university ensures a clean and comfortable living environment with wardens and staff available 24/7. Each hostel includes dining facilities, canteens, lounges, outdoor courts, and indoor game provisions. Internet connectivity through Wi-Fi is provided, and the hostels feature aesthetically pleasing architecture with open spaces and greenery.

Hostel life at Panjab University promotes social interaction and participation in cultural and social activities, fostering a sense of community. Events like talent shows, dramatics, and literary events are organised to enrich the students’ experience. This period helps create lifelong bonds and friendships, marking a significant milestone in an individual’s life. Hostels aim to support the overall development of personality and prepare students for a successful future. Living in a hostel requires integrity, cooperation, tolerance, and hard work for the benefit of both the students and the institution.
