Scholarships

NIT Nagaland offers a range of scholarships to support students based on academic performance, financial need, and social background.

Institute Merit Scholarship: Awarded to the top-performing 10% of students in each semester based on academic results.
Institute Sports Scholarship: Provided to students who have shown exceptional performance in sports.
Institute Cultural Scholarship: Offered to students actively participating and excelling in cultural events.

SC/ST Students: Full exemption from tuition fees.
Annual Family Income Below ₹1 Lakh: Eligible for full tuition fee waiver.
Annual Family Income Between ₹1 Lakh and ₹5 Lakh: Eligible for a two-thirds reduction in tuition fees.

Students can also apply for a variety of scholarships offered by the central and state governments, such as:

Post Matric Scholarship for ST Students – for Scheduled Tribe students from Nagaland pursuing higher education.
Nagaland State Merit Scholarship – awarded to students with high academic scores in Class 10, 12, or degree programs.
NEC Stipend and Book Grant – available for students pursuing technical or professional courses.
Scholarships from District Welfare Offices – available for students from various Indian states depending on eligibility.
Private Foundation Scholarships – available to students from economically weaker backgrounds based on academic merit.

For institute-level scholarships, students must apply through the internal process coordinated by the Student Affairs Office.
For government scholarships, applications must be submitted through respective online portals, as per the instructions shared by the institute.
