National Institute of Fashion Technology Chennai was established in 1995. The college is in NIFT Campus, Rajiv Gandhi Salai Taramani, Chennai. It is functioning under the aegis of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.

NIFT Chennai also offers B.F.Tech with specialization in Apparel Production with a duration of four years at the Undergraduate level of study. NIFT fee structure for both B.Des and B.F.Tech is 11.35 Lakhs.

NIFT Chennai courses offered at the Postgraduate level of study is a Master of Fashion Management or M.F.M and Master of Fashion Technology or M.F.Tech with a duration of two years. NIFT Chennai fee structure for Postgraduate level courses is 4.81 Lakhs.

NIFT Chennai diploma courses are offered both at the Undergraduate and Postgraduate level of study. It offers two years duration long diploma courses in Fashion Fit & Style, Textile CAD and Fashion & Retail Store Operations at the Undergraduate level of study. At the postgraduate level of study, Chennai NIFT offers one-year duration long Postgraduate level Diploma in Apparel Production & Merchandising and Footwear Design & Production Technology at the Postgraduate level of study.
