MDI Murshidabad Scholarships
MANAGE assists candidates in accessing various meritorious scholarships, making the process of obtaining financial aid more convenient through the administrative section of MDI. This ensures that the pursuit of higher education is not hindered for deserving students.
Through the SBI Scholar Loan Scheme, candidates can benefit from 100% financing of the course fee without incurring any processing fees. The scheme facilitates swift approval at the Campus Branch, ensuring a quicker disbursement of funds. Additionally, it offers a repayment period of up to 15 years after the course period.
MDI Murshidabad also supports candidates in securing scholarship and loan amounts through the Vidya Lakshmi Loan and Scholarship program.
Freeship & Scholarship for NE Students
SPECIAL SCHOLARSHIP AND FREESHIP SCHEME FOR THE NORTH-EAST STUDENTS TO PURSUE PGDM (2 YEAR FULL TIME) COURSE APPROVED BY AICTE AT MDI MURSHIDABAD
1. OBJECTIVE: –
To provide financial assistance to meritorious students belonging to economically weaker sections of North Eastern states of India to pursue management studies.
2. SCOPE: –
It is envisaged to provide 5 nos. Freeship (100% waiver of tuition fee) and 10 nos. scholarship (20% waiver of tuition fee) every year beginning from the academic year 2021-22 for pursuing 2 year full-time PGDM (AICTE approved) at Management Development Institute Murshidabad.
3. ELIGIBILITY:
a) Applicant should have a domicile in the North Eastern Region.
b) Applicant should have completed Class 10th & 12th from any recognized school/college/ institution in the North –Eastern Region.
c) Applicant must have at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in both X and XII.
d) Applicant must have minimum 3 years Bachelor degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in any discipline from any university.
e) The annual income of the parents of the applicant should not exceed Rs. 8.0 lakhs#.
# The income slab is linked with the Govt. policy on EWS (economically weaker section) / non-creamy layer of OBC, wherein the benefits are extended to persons with family income below Rs. 8.0 lakhs per annum.
4. Amount of Freeship and Scholarship:
a) Freeship:
• Each Freeship awardee will get 100% waiver of tuition fee which is equivalent to Rs. 8,92,000/- for 2 years PGDM (2021-23).
• To continue the freeship, the awardee is required to maintain at least 6.0 CGPA in each term. In case of poor performance, i.e. securing less than 6.0 CGPA in any term, there will be no freeship in the subsequent term. However, once securing 6.0 or more CGPA, the freeship will be restored in the subsequent term.
• The Freeship scheme is limited to 3 nos. female students and 2 nos. male students. In case of any shortfall in requisite male students, the same will be filled from the available female students.
b) Scholarship:
• An amount of Rs. 8500/- per month [equivalent to 20% of the tuition fee of two years] will be given for max. 21 months in the entire duration of PGDM and the rate of scholarship is linked with his/her performance in PGDM term examinations.
• In case of securing 7.0 – 8.5 CGPA in any term, the rate of scholarship for the subsequent term will be enhanced to Rs. 10,600/- p.m. (equivalent to 25% of tuition fees of two years). Similarly, in case of securing more than 8.5 CGPA, the rate of scholarship for the subsequent term will be enhanced to Rs. 12,750/- p.m. (equivalent to 30% of tuition fees of two years).
• In case of poor performance, i.e. securing less than 6.0 CGPA in any term, there will be no scholarship in the subsequent term. However, once securing 6.0 or more CGPA, the scholarship will be restored in the subsequent term.
• The scholarship scheme is limited to 10 students.
Note: The scholarship amount is linked with the tuition fee. Thus, with any revision of tuition fee, the scholarship amount will revise proportionately.
5. Disbursement of Freeship and Scholarship:
For freeship awardees, term fee will be reduced to the extent of 100% tuition fee. For scholarship awardees, the scholarship amount will be credited to their respective bank accounts on monthly basis.
6. Selection Procedure:
The awardees will be selected based on CAT percentile, which is taken into consideration for admission in MDIM. From the admitted students, the top 3 female eligible students and 2 male eligible students will be selected for freeship based on CAT percentile and from the remaining eligible students, top 10 students will be selected for scholarship based on CAT percentile. In case of a tie, the 12th percentage will be the deciding criteria. The selection process will take place after completion of the first 30 days of Term-I.
7. Procedure for applying for the freeship and scholarship:
Notification for the freeship and scholarship will be released in each academic year at the time of admission. All the North East Students from the selected list of new admission will be intimated personally through e-mail and will be allowed to apply online. Selection of awardees will be done after completion of the first 30 days of Term-I.
8. Other terms & conditions:
a) The freeship and scholarship granted under this scheme are subject to good academic performance and good behavioral conduct of the candidate.
b) The decision of the Institute in all matters like selection, continuation/ discontinuation of the freeship and scholarship will be final. No correspondence will be entertained from the students in connection with the process of selection /continuation/ discontinuation of freeship and scholarship etc.
c) The candidate drawing any freeship/scholarship from any other sources is not eligible for this benefit.
d) The above scheme will be revised as and when required.
