IIT Mandi Scholarships
IIT Mandi offers a range of scholarships to undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), and doctoral students. Scholarships are awarded based on economic background, academic merit, and through the Half-Time Research Assistantship (HTRA) scheme. Details of the available scholarships and benefits are outlined below:

Institute Merit-cum-Means (MCM) Scholarship for BTech Students:
This scholarship is available to General and OBC category BTech students, awarded based on merit in the qualifying examination. For first-year students, merit is determined by their All India Rank in JEE Advanced. Selected students receive INR 1,000 per month along with a full tuition fee waiver for one academic year, starting from the Odd semester registration. -
Institute Scholarship for SC/ST BTech Students:
SC/ST BTech students are eligible for room rent exemption and a monthly stipend of INR 1,000. Alternatively, they can opt for free basic messing (meals) along with a pocket allowance of INR 250 per month. -
Institute Merit-cum-Means (MCM) Scholarship for MSc and MA Students:
General and OBC category MSc and MA students can avail monthly stipends and tuition fee waivers under this scheme. Eligible students receive INR 1,000 per month during their second semester and INR 2,000 per month during their third and fourth semesters. The stipend is granted for five months each in the periods of August–December and February–June. -
Institute Scholarship for SC/ST MSc and MA Students:
SC/ST students enrolled in MSc and MA programs are offered a full tuition fee waiver, a fixed monthly stipend of INR 2,000, free boarding and lodging, and an annual reimbursement of INR 3,000 for stationery and book expenses. -
HTRA Scholarship for MTech and MS Students:
MTech and MS students with HTRA assistantships receive a monthly scholarship of INR 12,400 under this scheme. -
HTRA Scholarship for PhD Students:
As per MHRD and DST guidelines, PhD students receive INR 31,000 per month during their tenure as Junior Research Fellows (JRF) for the first two years, and INR 35,000 per month as Senior Research Fellows (SRF) for the third, fourth, and fifth years.
