The selection process for the IIM Shillong MBA program consists of three phases, which are outlined in the following sections:

IIM Shillong PGP Selection Criteria: Shortlisting for GD & PI 

Phase 1 of the selection process includes candidates who have obtained a percentile score above the specified minimum cut-off in each section of the CAT examination. The sectional cut-off for the CAT examination at IIM Shillong is provided in the table below:

Candidates who surpass the minimum cut-off will undergo further screening for the Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) based on the following criteria:

1. Computed Composite Score: This score is determined by considering the scaled CAT percentile and the number of months of work experience.
2. Academic Discipline in Graduation: The field of study during the candidate’s undergraduate education is taken into account.
3. Social Category: The candidate’s category or caste is considered.
4. Overall CAT 2022 Performance: The candidate’s overall performance in the CAT 2022 examination is evaluated.
5. Availability of Seats at IIM Shillong: The number of available seats at IIM Shillong plays a role in the selection process.
6. Past Trends of Overlap and Attendance during GD and PI: Historical data on the occurrence and attendance trends during the GD and PI process are taken into consideration.

IIM Shillong Admission Criteria: PGP Selection : GD and PI Cut-off

Candidates who are shortlisted will be invited to participate in the Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) process. In order to be considered for final selection, candidates must meet the cut-off percentages for both GD and PI. The cut-off scores for GD and PI may vary for different categories of candidates.

IIM Shillong Admission Criteria: PGP Selection: Final Merit list 

Candidates who have successfully cleared the minimum cut-off in the Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) will be eligible for final selection. The final merit list will be compiled taking into account various factors such as the PI score, academic achievements, overall CAT performance, professional experience, and gender diversity.

IIM Shillong MBA Admission: How to Apply?

To apply for the IIM Shillong MBA program, follow the steps below:

1. Visit the official website of CAT or www.iimcat.ac.in to register yourself and obtain a system-generated login ID and password.
2. Log in to your account using the provided credentials and access the application form.
3. Fill in the required personal, academic, and professional details in the application form.
4. Upload the necessary documents as proof of the provided information.
5. Select “PGP in IIM Shillong” as your preferred program if you wish to apply specifically to IIM Shillong.
6. Review all the entered details to ensure accuracy and submit the form.
7. Proceed to make the application fee payment as instructed.
