Campus Facilities and Student Life

Spread out over an area of 80,000 sq. Ft., GJIMT is also known for its modern, state-of-the-art technology. The campus is equipped with Wi-Fi, has air-conditioned classrooms that come with computers, LCD and overhead projectors, audio-visual aids, as well as whiteboards, which creates a very conducive environment for learning.

Students have access to a computer lab which houses about 300 systems and has both Windows and Linux based servers, a hardware lab which has state-of-the-art microprocessor kits (the digital trainers’ kits are a great way of providing practical training to the students) as well an auditorium with a large capacity.

For students looking to study in peace, or for them to find information on nearly every topic, the institute has a library which houses books, journals (international as well), magazines and of course, newspapers. With a view to encouraging the entrepreneurial skills in the students, GJIMT has an Entrepreneurship Development Incubation Centre (EDIC).

GJIMT provides the students that wish to seek on-campus accommodation, with excellent lodging and boarding facilities along with some indoor and outdoor sports facilities, to encourage physical activity along with academics. Students are required to follow a Code of Conduct, and some of the rules include attending at least 75% of the total lectures in a semester, depositing the semester fee on schedule, carrying the I-card when on campus, not visiting the canteen and other extracurricular facilities when classes are in progress, switching off their mobiles in class and not carrying them during an examination (internal or external), maintaining full attendance during occasions and events that are organized by the institute, maintaining decorum and discipline both inside and outside the classroom, wearing a dress which gives a professional image (they may be asked to dress formally depending upon the occasion), etc.

Students found violating any rules mentioned in the Code of Conduct shall be punished accordingly. Besides this, the institute has serious policies against ragging; the administration shall not tolerate any kind of ragging on or off-campus, and those indulging in this act shall be punished. Ragging in any form, in its departments, constituent units, on any of its premises such as academic, residential, cafeteria, sports, etc., on or outside of campus, in any mode of transportation (private or public) shall not be tolerated. Those found guilty shall be subject to a criminal proceeding and could also have their admission revoked. Some forms of ragging recognized by GJIMT include:

  • Criminal intimidation
  • Extortion
  • Instigating to ragging
  • Unlawful assemble and rioting while ragging
  • Injury to the body; causing physical or mental trauma
  • Criminal trespass etc.
