Life at Nalsar

Nestled in the outskirts of Hyderabad, NALSAR provides a distinctive ambiance for its participants. Its verdant campus, picturesque lakeside views, and top-notch infrastructure create a delightful experience for everyone. Beyond the surroundings, a plethora of student-led activities on campus add vibrancy to the community.

NALSAR serves as a platform for participants to engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds. With a range of programs on offer, the intra-student interactions on campus contribute significantly to the personal growth and development of participants’ personalities.

Library

The library at NALSAR University of Law stands as one of the largest law libraries in the nation, not only in terms of its extensive collection but also in its capacity. Housing over 30,000 titles and more than 185,000 e-books across diverse fields ranging from law to social sciences, the library offers a comprehensive resource for students and scholars alike. Its reference section boasts complete volumes of prestigious journals and compilations in the legal field. Furthermore, the library provides access to numerous online databases including Westlaw, HeinOnline, Kluwer Arbitration, Manupatra, SCC Online, Economic and Political Weekly, JSTOR, LegitQuest, Oxford Reports on International Law, Cambridge University Press, Oxford, Taylor and Francis, Bloomsbury Hart, and BRILL.

NALSAR Internet Centre

The campus offers Wi-Fi connectivity throughout its premises. Additionally, LAN connectivity is available in all rooms of the halls of residence, faculty residences, guest house, and convention center. The Internet Center features approximately 40 Thin Clients operating on the Linux Operating System, along with desktop systems for use by both faculty and students. A designated area is also allocated for laptop users. Supported by a main server with a bandwidth of 8 Mbps, the Internet Center offers dual connectivity via Wi-Fi and wired connections. Printing, scanning, and photocopying facilities are available at subsidized rates. To ensure security, campus internet users are assigned distinct IP addresses and passwords. Plans are underway to install a CD/DVD server to facilitate simultaneous access to CD-ROM and DVD-ROM resources. Students are encouraged to invest in laptops to fully utilize internet connectivity for research purposes. Furthermore, the university boasts a state-of-the-art video conferencing facility, facilitating interactions between students, faculty, prospective employers, business schools, and research institutions both domestically and internationally.

Classrooms

Our classrooms are equipped with state-of-the-art technology and have the capacity to accommodate more than 60 individuals. Additionally, our air-conditioned conference halls, such as the SAARCLAW Centre and Jhunjhunwala Hall, are well-appointed and luxurious, capable of accommodating 100 or more attendees.

Hostel

The University provides separate housing accommodations for male and female students, each with access to a shared dining hall. These halls of residence offer common room amenities, indoor games, television, and internet connectivity. Additionally, they are equipped with diesel generators for uninterrupted power supply. Maintaining discipline within the halls of residence is a collaborative effort involving students, the Proctor, Chief Warden, Wardens, and Assistant Wardens. Adherence to the established regulations governing hall conduct is mandatory.

Dining

The main cafeteria primarily offers vegetarian cuisine, but non-vegetarian options are available twice a week upon student request. Additionally, various food stalls across campus cater to diverse culinary preferences, some of which were initiated by our management students as part of their Marketing Management course live projects.

Sports facilities

Our hostel features a gymnasium and offers indoor recreational options such as pool tables and table tennis facilities. Furthermore, a stadium with a football field is currently being outfitted with cutting-edge amenities. Additionally, two tennis courts, one for male students and one for female students, have been built. Construction of playfields for various sports is also underway. Both the boys’ and girls’ hostels are equipped with basketball courts.

Club Rooms

Our hostel offers a gymnasium along with other indoor sports facilities such as a pool table and table tennis. Construction of a stadium with a football field is underway, featuring state-of-the-art amenities. Additionally, tennis courts have been built, and basketball enthusiasts will find courts located within their respective hostels as well as a main court on campus.

For informal club or group meetings, DoMS provides club rooms conveniently situated near the academic block’s entrance. Adjacent to these rooms is a Cafe Coffee Day outlet, offering students a convenient option for refreshments during brainstorming sessions. Another popular hangout spot for students to relax and unwind is Ping’s Cafe.

Transport

The university operates two buses to facilitate transportation for both faculty and administrative staff residing in the twin cities. These buses are also utilized for certain student activities. The campus enjoys good connectivity to the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad via the A.P. State Road Transport. Auto-rickshaws are available from the Shameerpet Bus Station to the campus, and regular bus services run between Secunderabad Railway Station and the university campus.

Convention Centre

An advanced Convention Centre is operational and serves as a self-contained venue for hosting national and international conferences, training programs, workshops, summer courses for both Indian and international students, and continuing legal education programs for the Bar. The air-conditioned rooms within the Centre are elegantly furnished and equipped with all necessary amenities, including internet connectivity, ensuring seamless program execution.

Bank

Financial institutions such as Indian Bank, IDBI, Canara Bank, and SBH have branches in Shameerpet Village. NALSAR students have the option to open accounts with Indian Bank. Additionally, an ATM counter is conveniently located on campus to meet the banking needs of students and staff.

Health Centre

The University operates its own health center, staffed with a male medical officer, female medical officer, and a resident nurse. In instances of serious illnesses, students may be advised by the doctor to seek treatment at hospitals in the twin cities for prompt medical attention. Any hospital expenses incurred in such cases are the responsibility of the student. Additionally, ambulance services are available round-the-clock to provide immediate medical assistance to students in case of emergencies.
