ATMA 2024 Exam Pattern

The exam pattern is framed in such a way to check the aptitude of the candidates. The students who are preparing for other competitive exams like CAT can also appear for this exam. Objective type questions are asked in this test. The question paper is divided into two parts. Each part consists of three sections. It is not necessary that the questions should be attended in a sequential order.

There will be a total of 180 questions which each question carrying one mark. There is also a system of negative marking in which you will be losing ¼th of the mark for every wrong answer. Candidates need to select one option out of four choices.  All the questions are given in English only. Unlike various other competitive entrance exams, this examination is conducted in the afternoon sessions from 2 pm to 5 pm.

Preparation Tips

It is essential for the students to follow the tips given below to increase their chances of scoring well in the exam.

  • The most important deciding factor in this test is the speed. To increase the speed, the candidates should solve as many question papers as possible.
  • Another way of solving the question papers at a faster rate is using the shortcuts to answer the questions.
  • Prepare a list of shortcuts for every type of problems and memorise it. It is important to use the shortcuts which are easy to remember.
  • It is important to work out the question papers with different level of difficulties. This helps in facing the exam without any fear.
  • To complete the syllabus in an organised manner, prepare a schedule which suits your study timings.
  • There are certain candidates who study intensively for some days and take a long break. This approach is not the right strategy. Study consistently even if you are studying for lesser hours a day. Regular touch in syllabus would help in enhancing your performance to a greater level.
  • You have to attend the mock tests as per the exam pattern. Online mock tests would prove to be beneficial.
  • Don’t worry if you score very less in a mock test. Try to correct the mistakes in the subsequent mock tests. This would be of great help in better scoring.
  • Each topic needs a different strategy. In the quantitative aptitude section, remember all the essential formula and the basic concepts. For excelling in the Verbal Ability section, improve your vocabulary and grammar.
  • Try to find the important topics which are frequently asked and give more importance to that topics. Practise those sections to have an edge over others in the test.
  • Avoid unnecessary stress during the exam as it will reduce your performance.
