Shaastra- the annual technical festival of Indian Institute of Technology Madras is back. The fest, scheduled to be held from January 23-26, 2016, is one of the finest techno-managerial fests in the country. This year too, Shaastra hopes to live up to the expectations.

What one can look forward to is the learning experience at Shaastra which is facilitated by its Lecture Series. A few of the world renowned speakers will grace Shaastra this year. Some of the big-wigs one can look forward to interact with are Dr.Kamlesh Lulla, who is the Director of University Research, Collaboration and Partnership office at NASA’s Johnson Space Center(JSC), Texas(US) and one of the top 5 scientists of Indian Origin at NASA, Udaya Kumar Dharmalingam, the designer of the new Indian Rupee symbol and Dr.Suranga Nanayakkara, one of the Innovators under 35 for Asia Pacific Region. There is a lot of gyaan that one can look forward to acquire from.

Shaastra 2016 will also witness the flagship event- the Makers Summit. It will be a concoction of various events including Lectures, Panel discussions, Workshops and a Product Design Challenge. The idea is to give the Einstein in everyone a chance to showcase their potential.

It’s not all work and no fun. Some of the most stunning performances will also be a part of the package. Light & Sand Art by India’s best sand artist and only light painter Vivek Patil, some daredevil stunts by French stunt biker Yohan Triboulat LED & Neon Show by Ukraine’s finest  entertainers Adelaida are just some of the highlights.
