Doodle for Google 2019 Competition

Google, the leading internet search engine, is inviting applications from young school students to participate in the annual “Google Doodle 2019” contest. Herein, every year, Google invites students studying in Class I to Class X, to submit their entries for Google Doodles.

The Doodle entry that wins the annual contest hosted by Google every year is featured on the home page of Google India. But this year, Google has upped the stakes of the competition significantly by announcing a substantial cash reward for the winner. The winner of the Doodle for Google 2019 competition will get a college scholarship of Rs. 5 Lakhs from Google.

Doodle for Google 2019: Theme

Every year, Google announces a unique theme for the Doodle contest; likewise the theme for Doodle for Google 2019 has been identified as “When I Grow up, I hope…” This means that the interested students must create a doodle around the concept of what they hope for the future. Students are free to use any ideas or materials they desire to create their unique entry for Doodle for Google 2019 contest. Though, it is pertinent to mention that all entries must be accompanied by an application form and a statement. This statement should specify what the student has drawn and how it represents something they hope for the future.

Doodle for Google 2019: Important Dates

The online process for submission of applications for Doodle for Google 2019 is already underway. Interested students can complete the application process latest by 30th September 2019. In order to allow the maximum number of students to participate in this contest, Google has allowed both online as well as offline applications for Doodle for Google 2019. Though, the completed entries must reach Google by 30th September 2019 as no applications will be accepted beyond this date.

Doodle for Google 2019: How to Apply

Interested students can apply for the Doodle for Google 2019 contest via both online as well as offline mode.

For online submissions, students must download the application form from the official Google website. Then the scanned copy of the completed application form must be submitted along with the scanned copy of the artwork. The image format should be JPG or PNG only.

For offline submissions, students must post their completed application form along with a printout of their artwork to the following address only: –

Entries have been divided into five groups based on the class groups, i.e. Class I-II, Class III-IV, Class V-VI, Class VII-VIII, Class IX-X. After the contest is closed, Google will select 4 entries from each group which will be displayed on the Doodle for Google 2019 website’s online gallery from 21st October 2019 to 6th November 2019. Votes will be invited from the users to select the final winner, who will be announced on 14th November 2019.

Judging criteria

Doodles will be judged on the following parameters:

  1. Artistic merit:
    1. Based on artistic skill
  2. Creativity:
    1. Representation of the contest theme, use of the letters in the Google logo, and the unique approach to the doodle
  3. Theme communication:
    1. How well the contest theme is expressed in both the artwork and the written statement

Doodles will be grouped and judged by the following 5 class groups:

  • Class 1-2
  • Class 3-4
  • Class 5-6
  • Class 7-8
  • Class 9-10
