The Indian Business & Professionals’ Council Sharjah, Cochin Herald magazine, Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry, ITEC UAE and Dr Al Leem Knowledge Foundation jointly awarded several achievers in various fields of business and communication in a glittering function on June 4 at Sharjah. Amity University Mumbai Dean, Prof Ujjwal K Chowdhury, was given the Global Leadership in Media & Communication Studies, along with several other achievers.

Prof Chowdhury is the former Dean of Symbiosis International University and Whistling Woods School of Communication, and a former employee of Zee News, Times of India and Business India group.
Mr Shrikant Bhasi, Chairman, Carnival Group, was adjudged the Business Man of the Year, while ITEC Director General Shripriyaa Kumariya was given the Global Leadership in Economic Development award, among others.
Prof Chowdhury is known for his Convergence approach to media education with a broad all media base leading to one niche area of communication as specialization and integrating classroom learning with experiential and cyber based learning.
