IIT Roorkee Cutoffs 2015

The JEE 2015 Seat Allocation process for
the IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology) is finally over and the academic
year most of the IITs has commenced. So, let us now take a look at the cutoffs/closing
ranks in 2015 for the different IITs. This series of articles will help you
understand the cutoffs/closing ranks for selection to each of the various
branches in the different IITs in 2015. This will also give you some idea about
the expected cutoffs/closing ranks for admission to the different IITs in 2016.

Do note that only candidates who secured
a rank among the top one and a half lakh aspirants who appeared for the JEE
Main 2015 were eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced examination 2015. Candidates
were finally selected to the IITs/ISM Dhanbad purely on the basis of their
performance in the JEE Advanced 2015. This was also the first time that the
IITs and ISM Dhanbad were a part of the Joint Seat Allocation Process that
involved other reputed institutions like the NITs, IIITs, Other GFTIs
(Government Funded Technical Institutes).

In this article, let us take a look
at the cutoffs/closing ranks for the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee
(IITR).

The First Engineering College,
Roorkee was established in 1847 AD in the British Empire.  In 21st September 2001, it was renamed the
Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. IIT Roorkee is situated in the
picturesque foothills of the Himalayas, in the state of Uttarakhand. The
Institute has completed 150th year of its existence in October 1996. The
Institute has two campuses. The main campus is at Roorkee in Uttarakhand and
the other one is 50 km away at Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh.

Selections to these seats was done on
the basis of a student’s All India Rank in the JEE Advanced 2015. The list
given below mentions the opening and closing ranks of students across different
categories that were selected to the various courses at this IIT in 2015.
