After taking charge as director for little over a year, Dr Sunil Rai has put in his papers at the Goa Institute of Management (GIM). Dr Rai was appointed in February 2013.

Dr Rai who was earlier with management institutes like SP Jain Institute of Management and Research in Mumbai as a joint Director and NIIT University, Neemrana, Rajasthan said he was leaving for personal reasons.

Speaking to PaGaLGuY.com, Dr Sunil Rai said that he has informed the chairman about his decision to leave. “I am not leaving abruptly. I discussed with the chairman who was sympathetic towards my reasons and we have jointly decided to work out a system when I am gone.”

Dr Rai who is currently out of Goa will return to the institute in a few days and take charge till a concrete plan is worked out. “I think GIM has great promise and a good institute to be associated with. But I have to move on,” he added.

Currently, Mr PFX D’Lima is holding fort at GIM. Incidentally, this is Mr D’Lima’s third stint with GIM.

According to sources within GIM, the hunt for a new director has already begun.
