The selection of the candidates for admission into the various programs will occur in two phases and will have three segments of assessment.

The allocation of weightage for each component is the same for both the General as well as the reserved category of students in the merit list preparation.

Procedure for drafting the merit list by the Institute

The merit list will be set up based on merit and the preferences shown by the applicants at the time of filling the online application form. As needs are, the applicants must show their preferences cautiously as it has suggestions for the merit list.

In the event of a tie between two applicants, their PI marks will be contrasted and the one with more marks in PI will be considered. In the event that there is a tie in PI marks too their PIT marks will be contrasted and the one with more marks in PIT will be considered. In the event that there is a tie in PIT marks too then the Entrance test marks will be contrasted and the one with more marks in the entrance test will be considered. If on the off chance, there is a tie in Entrance marks too then the candidate or applicant higher in age will be offered the seat.

On the basis of the merit list for each program, the list of selected applicants will be put up on the site. Every applicant who appeared for the exam will likewise get his/her scorecard showing the marks for every component of the examination procedure.

List of Selected Candidates and the list of applicants who have been wait-listed for admission will be shown on the TISS admission site.

Procedure for drafting the waitlist by the Institute

Applicants who get admission to the program of their first preference won’t be on wait lists for some other program referenced in their list of preferences.

Applicants who get entrance into any program which is their second preference might be held in the waitlist for the course of their first preference. Applicants who get entrance into any program which is their third preference will be held in the wait list of their first and second preference

Candidates, who get confirmation in a program which is lower in their request of preferences, will be held in the wait list of a program which had a higher preference in the request, till the seats in the program with a higher preference are filled.

On the off chance that, the applicants qualify for two programs simultaneously, when the wait list is drafted, the course which had a higher preference in his/her list will win. The Institute will offer admission only to the course which has been listed as the higher preference.

At the point when an applicant who has officially accepted confirmation in a program according to the first merit list is later offered the higher preference when the wait list is drafted, he/she will be moved into the program of higher preference and will be informed about the same.

All the best to everyone writing the exams!
