Silicon Institute of Technology, located in Bhubaneswar, is a privately owned educational institution that was established in 2001. Initially affiliated with Utkal University, it subsequently became affiliated with Biju Patnaik University of Technology in 2002. The institution is officially recognised by the Odisha Government and has received approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). In the 2022 National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), Silicon Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar, secured the 161st position in the field of Engineering. Additionally, it falls into the 'Band-Performer' category for 'Private or Self-Financed College/Institutes (Technical)' according to the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) in 2021. Furthermore, the institute has obtained approval from the University Grants Commission (UGC).
In recognition of its outstanding contributions to academic excellence, research and development, and innovation in technical education, Silicon Institute of Technology received the prestigious title of the best engineering college in the state of Odisha in 2018 from the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE).
