RPF Syllabus 2018

For the posting of constable the question will be from SSLC portions whereas, for Sub Inspector, it will be from graduate portions. But syllabus is same for both the postings.

Subject Topics
General awareness Questions based on environment, current affairs, certain life experience that an educated can answer. Question relating to History of India, Indian constitution, Arts and culture, Geography, Economics, Language, Politics, Sports, general science, etc.
Arithmetic Number system, decimals and fractions, whole numbers, the relationship between number, ratios & proportion, arithmetic operations, profit and loss, interest, averages, mensuration, tables and graph, time and distance, etc
General Intelligence and reasoning Analogies, syllogistic reasoning, similarities and difference, statement and conclusion, spatial visualization, coding and decoding, spatial orientation, arithmetic numerical series and non-verbal series, analysis of problem-solving, classification of verbal and figure, judgment, decision making, concepts on family relationships, memory visualisation, differentiating observations, etc.

After successful completion of Computer Based Test, the next stage is a Physical test where body fitness plays a vital role. The candidate must clear PET to get qualified for the next level. In case of PET, running, long jump and high jump is considered as qualifying test. For running only one chance is given whereas for jumping 2 chances are given.

  • Arithmetic:

          Quantitative Aptitude by R S Agarwal, Fast track objective Arithmetic by Rajesh Verma, Practice book on Quicker Mathematics by M Tyra and K Kundan, RPF/RPSF constable exam books by V.V.K. Subburaj.

  • General Intelligence and Reasoning :

           Analytical reasoning by M.K.Pandey, a modern approach to Verbal and nonverbal reasoning by R.S Agarwal, Test of reasoning by Edgar Thorpe, Fast track objective arithmetic by Rajesh Verma, Objective general English by S.P Bakshi, objective General English by R.S Agarwal.
