MET 2024 Exam Information

The deadline for submitting the MET application form 2024 for Phase 2 has been extended until April 22, 2024, online. It is imperative to submit the MET application form 2024 before the specified deadline. Candidates can access the MET application form 2024 online at manipal.edu. The MET 2024 exam date for Phase 1 is scheduled for April 16-17, 2024, while Phase 2 will take place from May 18 to 19, 2024. MET 2024 is conducted as a center-based online examination, and candidates are required to select their MET test city, test center, dates, and slots based on seat availability.

To book the MET 2024 exam, candidates need to log in to the Online Test Booking System (OTBS) at manipalotbs.com. Booking for MET 2024 is on a first-come-first-serve basis and is subject to slot availability. The MET admit card 2024 for Phase 2 is now available online, and no other mode will be utilized to release the admit card of MET. Registered candidates can access the MET admit card 2024 for Phase 2 by logging in with the required credentials. To generate the admit card of MET 2024, candidates must complete the slot booking process.

The MET 2024 exam is considered to be less difficult compared to engineering entrance exams like JEE Main and JEE Advanced. A score of 180 out of a total of 240 is considered good for MET 2024. MET cutoff 2024 marks depend on the difficulty of the paper and the number of available intakes in a particular college.

What is MET?

The Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) conducts MET 2024, an annual university-level entrance exam, through which candidates are admitted to a range of undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) degree programs offered by the university.

MET 2024 Application Form

To register for MET 2024, candidates need to visit manipal.edu in order to access the application form. They must ensure to keep the provided password confidential, as it will be used for logging into the secure booking platform online.

The process of filling the MET 2024 Application Form involves three main steps:

Step 1: Providing Basic Information

During this initial stage, candidates are required to “Register to Apply” and furnish the following details:

Personal Information: Full Name, Gender, Email ID, Date of Birth (DOB), Parents’ information, and more. Course & Category: Indicate the candidate’s category, preferred Course, Program, and Stream. Location: Choose the country, state, city, and enter the pin code while also specifying the nationality.

Note: It is essential to complete all the fields as they are mandatory. Candidates should carefully review all the details before proceeding to the next step.

Step 2: Uploading of Photo and Signature

During this stage, candidates need to provide the following details:

Education Qualification: Information about the current Institute, School Name, Qualifying exam, Board/University, Year of passing, etc. Uploading of candidate’s Photograph and Signature.

Important Points related to Photo and Signature:

  1. The photograph should be a recent passport size with a light background, preferably white.
  2. The candidate must sign on a white paper using a black/blue pen.

Following this, applicants must carefully read through the declaration and then select the ‘I AGREE’ tab.

Step 3: Programs and Payment

In this stage, candidates need to select the desired program and provide their address. Additionally, they are required to choose their preferred mode of payment, and a brief description of the payment options is given below:

Application Fee Payment:

The application fee for MET 2024 is INR 600, and for the entrance test, it is INR 1400. Candidates can pay the application fee through various methods, including PayTM, Credit Card/Debit Card, or net banking. Payment can also be made via Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favor of “Manipal Academy of Higher Education,” payable at Manipal or Udupi. For candidates paying the application fee through DD, they must send the print copy of the filled application form along with the DD to the following address:

MET Eligibility 2024

MET 2024 sets its eligibility criteria based on the specific courses offered by Manipal Academy of Higher Education. One common criterion applicable to all courses is that there is no age limit. Here are the general eligibility standards for various programs:

  1. Intermediate graduates or equivalent examinations from a recognized board are eligible to apply.
  2. 10+2 with compulsory subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and English.
  3. A minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics, and any one optional subject (Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, or any technical vocational subject).
  4. There is no minimum age limit for MET 2024.
  5. For PG programs, candidates must secure a minimum of 50% marks as an overall cumulative percentage in the qualifying UG degree.

MET Exam Pattern 2024

The MET exam is administered as a center-based online test. It consists of a question paper with 60 questions covering subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, and General Aptitude. Candidates are allotted a duration of 120 minutes to complete the exam.

The MET Question Paper is provided in English medium. The questions are of objective nature, which means they are multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and also include Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions. Candidates must select the correct or the closest-to-correct answer from the options given.

Additional Details about the MET Paper Pattern:

  1. Rough sheets will be provided to candidates during the test, which must be returned upon completing the exam.
  2. Upon finishing the test, the final score will be displayed on the screen instantly.
  3. Candidates can verify their test score online, 24 hours after completing the test.
  4. In the case of multiple attempts by a candidate, the merit list will consider the best score achieved.

MET 2024 Syllabus

The syllabus for MET 2024 is determined by the coordinating body, Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), and it varies for each subject.

For B.Tech, the MET 2024 Syllabus includes topics from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English. The syllabus is designed based on the curriculum covered at the 10+2 level, which aligns with the major 10+2 Boards/Universities’ standards.

MET 2024 B.Tech Syllabus

Physics Syllabus: The topics covered in the Physics section of MET 2024 include Measurement, Kinematics, Force and Motion, Work and Energy, Rotational Motion and Rigid Body, Gravitation, Properties of Matter, Heat and Thermodynamics, Oscillations and Waves, Electrostatics, Current Electricity and Magnetism, Electromagnetic Waves, Optics, Modern Physics, Electronic Devices, Communication Systems, and Experimental Skills.

Chemistry Syllabus: The Chemistry section of MET 2024 comprises three main areas: Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry.

Mathematics Syllabus: In the Mathematics section, the MET 2024 syllabus covers topics like Partial Functions, Logarithms, Mathematical Induction, Binomial Theorem, Analytical Geometry, Limits and Continuity, Trigonometry, Vectors, Circles, Differentiation, Integration, and Probability.

General English Syllabus: The General English section includes questions on spotting errors, vocabulary, and sentence improvement.

MET 2024 Admit Card

The MET 2024 Admit card or e-hall ticket can be obtained by downloading it exclusively from the official website at manipal.edu. To access the admit card, candidates must complete their MET 2024 Slot Booking through the Online Test Slot Booking System (OTBS). The Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) schedules the online slot booking process two weeks before the exam date. Once the candidate successfully completes the MET Slot Booking, they will be able to download their MET 2024 Admit Card from the official website.

How to Download MET 2024 Admit Card?

To download the MET 2024 Admit Card, follow these steps:

Step 1: Go to the official MET website at manipal.edu Step 2: Enter the MET Application Number and the Password that was emailed to your registered ID during the application process. Step 3: Click on the ‘Login’ button. Step 4: Verify the details on the hall ticket and then proceed to download it. Step 5: Save the admit card for future reference and correspondence.

Essential Documents to Bring at MET Exam Center:

  1. Two printed copies of the e-Hall ticket.
  2. One photocopy of the filled application form.
  3. Any one of the following Photo ID Proofs: Passport, Driving License, EC Voter ID card, IT PAN card, or School/College ID card.

MET 2024 Result

The Results of MET 2024 will be published on the official website by the controller of Examinations at MAHE. It is advisable to keep printed copies of the result for the Counselling and admission process.

To download the MET 2024 result, follow these steps:

Step 1: Visit the official website of MAHE. Step 2: Click on the link for ‘MET 2024 Results.’ Step 3: Enter your application number and password. Step 4: Click on the ‘Submit’ button. Step 5: The MET results will be displayed on the screen. Download and save it for future reference.

Note: For the MBBS Program, NEET Scores will be considered, and MBA admissions will be based on XAT, MAT, CMAT, and CAT Scores.

MET 2024 Counselling

Candidates who meet the minimum cutoff mark and fulfill the eligibility criteria will be invited for the MET 2024 counseling process. Below is the basic procedure followed during MET 2024 counseling:

  1. Registration: Candidates must start by filling the registration form on the official website to participate in the counseling process.
  2. Documents Verification: Next, candidates need to have their original documents verified, along with providing one set of self-attested photocopies of these documents.
  3. Seat Allotment: Seats will be allotted based on the candidates’ ranks and the availability of seats, as well as the choices they have filled during the counseling process.
  4. Counseling Fee: Candidates must pay the course fees through a Demand Draft (DD) or produce confirmation of RTGS payment and collect the provisional admission letter.
  5. Waitlist: A waitlist will be published for candidates who wish to change their allotted seat. A second round of counseling will be conducted for those who were not allotted seats in the first round.
  6. Filling/Modifying Filled Choices: In this step, candidates can fill or modify their preferred choices and their order of preference by logging into their portal. It is advisable to take a printout of the modified or filled locked choices.
  7. Report to Allotted Colleges: Finally, candidates are required to report to the college they have been allotted as per the dates mentioned in the provisional admission letter.

The B.Arch program admissions will be conducted through the NATA exam conducted by the Council of Architecture (COA).
