The broad topics are given in the table. It is important for the students to go through all the subtopics. Take the printout of the syllabus and use it while preparing for the exam. This will ensure that you will not miss any topic. Since there is high competition for the seats in the exam, each mark is important. So, the students are advised to give importance to every topic.

There is a general tendency among the students to spend more time on the topic which interests them. It should be avoided particularly when it comes to preparing for entrance exams. Also, give importance to those subjects depending upon their weight in the exam. The core subjects such as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics should be given more importance than English.

Books that candidates have to refer for a better preparation

For this exam, it is more important for candidates to have a clearer understanding of the basics. The best books which would serve this purpose would be the textbooks of the higher secondary. Select the books which contain a lot of examples. This will help in developing a comprehensive knowledge of the subject. Study these books well and take notes. Revise the basics and solve as many questions as possible. You can find ample question papers online. Still, if you feel the need of the books containing the question bank, a number of such books are available in the market. Some of the books include.

  • Chemistry for Karnataka COMEDK.
  • Biology for Karnataka COMEDK.
  • Physics for Karnataka COMEDK.
  • Mathematics for Karnataka COMEDK
  • IIT Chemistry by O.P Aggarwal
  • MTG COMEDK Chapter-Wise questions and solutions for the years from 2005 to 2017 for the subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology and English
  • Algebra Made Easy written by K. P Basu
  • Aptitude Problems in Physics by S.S Krotov
  • Maths of  classes XI and XII by R.D. Sharma

Apart from these books, you can also refer the NCERT books for further references. There are certain online resources which give simpler knowledge about every important topic. You can even find the videos which use the animation to explain the difficult ideas. Make use of those resources too.
