About Vivekanand Business School

The Vivekanand Business School (VBS) carries with it the rich legacy of Management teaching methods of its parent, VESIM. VBS was initiated as the standalone Institute to offer the autonomous programme of PGDM, in keeping with the rules of the apex body, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) that oversees technical education in the country.

Vivekanand Education Society’s Institute of Management Studies & Research (VESIM) are separate entities, established by VES to impart management education.

About PGDM

In keeping with VBS’s aim to offer students knowledge in cutting-edge and advanced learning skills in Business Analytics, the institute started to offer a unique two-year, full-time Post-Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM). The Diploma has been accorded the Equivalence by AIU with the MBA Degree of Indian Universities.

The course, which has Big Data and Big Data Analytics, has been designed to meet industry needs in emerging disciplines to ensure a competitive edge over competitors.

The course covers five specializations like Business Analytics, Banking & Finance, Marketing, Operations, Human Resource Management. It will enable students to do a deep dive into their chosen field using Big Data and Big Data Analytics. It will also help sharpen their ability to make decisions on crucial management and policy issues. The discipline of Business Analytics includes some 13 Analytics-focused subjects, while Banking and Finance, Marketing, Operations and Human Resource Management specializations have 5 subjects each focused on Analytics.

VBS aims to have a Big Data/Business Analytics - Centre of Excellence where students would be trained in the latest in Data Analytics including Hadoop, R programming & Python, and generate ideas buried in the data.
