Kashmir University Scholarship

Kashmir University offers a scholarship programme to the candidates who suffer from the financial crisis. The programme has been designed to support the pupils who want to pursue higher studies but due to the low parental income, they cannot continue any further.

The scholarship programme of the university has been described as Merit Scholarship, Research Scholarship and Students Aids.

The selected candidate for the Merit Scholarship is decided on the basis of merit of the candidate in the last qualifying examination. Eligible candidates seeking admission in the Kashmir university can apply for the scholarship.

This scholarship is applicable for two candidates who hold the top two positions of the merit. For the previous year students who have got admission with the help of Merit Scholarship can be provided scholarship again if he/she tops the merit list of the entrance test.

For the final year, the same candidate can appear for the scholarship and the eligibility will be based on the merit of MA, MSc, MCom, first/second semester.

Research Scholarship has been provided for the PhD or M.Phil level research candidates in order to meet miscellaneous expenses. Only the eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship.

Other than that, the university has also provided Student Aid, which is based on the scheme known as the Student Aid Fund. Under this scheme, the meritorious candidates will be provided with the benefit of financial help. Candidates who belong to an extremely poor economic background or orphans can have this scholarship.

Kashmir University Admission Process

Kashmir University is enlisted as one of the largest universities in the states of Jammu & Kashmir. It offers many courses under various programmes such as undergraduate, postgraduate, research level, Diploma and Certification.

The admission to different courses is done on the basis of last qualifying examination, marks scored in the entrance exams, group discussion, personal interview and aptitude test.

However, the exams that are conducted by the university completely depends on the level of the programme one is applying to. For UG admission, the candidates will be selected on the basis of merit in their last qualifying examination while for PG admission, the university will conduct entrance test.

Admission Highlights

  • In the case of Kashmir University admission in the undergraduate courses, the candidates must have 10+2 passing certificate from a recognised board. Under this programme, the eligible candidate can pursue B.A, B.Com, B.Sc., Diploma, Certificate course and more.
  • To get admission in the PG programme, the candidates must have good grades in the qualifying examination. The candidates will be required to appear for an entrance examination and the selection of the candidate will be done on the basis of merit.
  • The university also offers Distance learning programme including distance B.Ed programme, the details of which are provided in the Kashmir University distance education B.Ed admission.
  • Candidates seeking admission to PhD and M.Phil programmes are required to appear for the entrance examination, which is followed by a personal interview. The selection of the candidates will be made on the basis of merits. Group discussions and personal interview are also included in some cases.
  • For the MBA programme, the eligible candidate will be required to appear for an entrance test. Scores of MAT, CMAT, UGAT can be considered followed by group discussion and personal interview, which is conducted by the university.
  • For admission in the M.P.Ed, a Physical Efficiency Test will be conducted by the university.
  • Selection to BA LLB, LLB, B.Ed, M.Com, B.Pharm, MSW, M.Ed, LLM, MFC, M.Lib.I.Sc is done on the basis of merit in the last qualifying examination.
  • For B.Pharm, the candidate must have 10+2 from a recognised board with Biology as a compulsory subject.
  • For B.Tech, the candidate will require 10+2 degree with Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics as the subjects. The selection will be based on JEE entrance exam.
  • For MCA, the candidates must have qualified BA, B.Sc, BCA, B.Com with Mathematics a compulsory subject.
  • For M.Pharm, the selection of the candidates will be based on GPAT entrance exam.
