Campus Location
University Business School (UBS), Panjab University is located in the heart of Chandigarh, known as the “Gateway to the North.” The city is a hub of educational institutions and is developing an Information Technology Park. This strategic location and the academic environment of Panjab University provide an ideal setting for knowledge building, self-learning, skill enhancement, and overall personality development.
IT Infrastructure
UBS boasts a state-of-the-art computer laboratory with over 50 terminals, all connected through high-speed internet provided by the university’s Computer Centre. The entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled. The school also features an air-conditioned auditorium and two seminar halls, each equipped with modern audio-visual aids and computing facilities, supporting various academic and co-curricular activities.
Library Facilities
UBS benefits from access to the A. C. Joshi Library, the central library of Panjab University, which is among the finest in India. It houses nearly one million volumes and subscribes to more than 1,500 journals and periodicals. Additionally, UBS has its own in-house library with over 11,443 books and subscriptions to more than 152 Indian and international journals. This comprehensive library infrastructure supports in-depth research and study across all management disciplines.
Hostel Facilities
Residential facilities at Panjab University are available to UBS students and are equipped with all essential amenities. There are 8 boys’ hostels and 11 girls’ hostels, along with international and working women’s hostels, offering a total capacity of approximately 7,600 students. The hostels are Wi-Fi enabled and provide a comfortable and friendly environment conducive to academic focus and community living. Shared rooms come with basic furnishings such as beds, tables, chairs, and cupboards. Common areas include mess facilities, reading rooms, prayer halls, TV lounges, and indoor sports areas.
Quarterly hostel charges are nominal, covering room rent, electricity, water, and other utilities. Additional charges may apply for services like parking and personal appliance usage. Refundable security deposits and annual administrative fees are also part of the hostel fee structure. Hostels operate under a structured merit-based allotment system with growing transparency due to the implementation of an online hostel management system.
