SIMSREE MMS Admission 2025

To apply for the MMS program at SIMSREE, candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for candidates belonging to reserved categories from Maharashtra). Admission begins with appearing for an entrance exam—MAH CET, CAT, or CMAT—as SIMSREE accepts scores from all three.

Course Eligibility Selection Criteria
MMS Graduation with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved category in Maharashtra) Entrance Exam (MAH CET/CAT/CMAT), followed by GD and PI

Candidates are required to register for and appear in one of the accepted entrance exams. Based on exam performance, SIMSREE prepares a shortlist of candidates.

Shortlisted applicants must then undergo a counseling process, which involves a Group Discussion (GD) and a Personal Interview (PI). In the GD, candidates are evaluated on their communication and analytical skills during a topic-based discussion. The PI assesses their academic background, goals, and general awareness.

Final selection is based on the candidate’s entrance exam score, GD, and PI performance.

The MMS program offers 180 seats, of which 153 are reserved for Maharashtra state candidates and 27 for All India category. Applications are accepted online via the official SIMSREE website or through the MAH CET portal.

SIMSREE PG Admission 2025

SIMSREE offers admission to Ph.D. (Management Studies) and part-time MMM (Master in Marketing Management) and MFM (Master in Financial Management) courses for the academic year 2025.

For the Ph.D. program, applicants must hold a postgraduate degree and qualify through either the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) or the Ph.D. Entrance Test (PET) conducted by the University of Mumbai. Candidates who clear the exam are invited for a Personal Interview (PI), where a panel evaluates their research aptitude and subject knowledge.

Course Eligibility Selection Criteria
Ph.D. (Management Studies) Post Graduation JRF or PET scores followed by PI
M.M. (MMM/MFM) Graduation + 2 years of work experience Group Discussion and Personal Interview only

For the MMM and MFM part-time programs, candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree along with at least two years of work experience. These programs do not require an entrance exam. Instead, selection is based on performance in the Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI).

  • In GD, applicants are assessed on their communication and analytical thinking during a group discussion.

  • In PI, candidates face questions related to their academic background, work experience, and motivation.

Final selection for all PG courses is based on exam performance (if applicable), GD, and PI.

Applications must be submitted online through the SIMSREE website or the University of Mumbai portal, along with the necessary documents, including academic transcripts and experience certificates.

SIMSREE Admission FAQs

Q1. Besides entrance exam scores, how can applicants enhance their chances of getting admitted to SIMSREE?

Ans. Yes, applicants can strengthen their admission prospects by performing well in the Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) conducted during the CAP Rounds. Strong communication skills, teamwork, and clarity of thought are essential for GD, while the PI requires candidates to be well-versed with their resume, career goals, and basic management concepts. Additionally, having a solid academic background and relevant work experience adds value. Confidence, clarity, and preparation are key to excelling in both GD and PI.

Q2. Is the SIMSREE admission process entirely online?

Ans. Yes, the entire admission process at SIMSREE can be completed online. Candidates must register on the MAH CET portal or the SIMSREE official website, fill out the application form, and upload required documents like academic mark sheets. Exam scores for MAH CET, CAT, or CMAT are also submitted online. The CAP Rounds, including document verification, are conducted online by the Government of Maharashtra. Depending on the year, GD and PI may be held virtually or in person. It’s advisable to regularly check the official SIMSREE website for the latest updates.

Q3. With a 99 percentile in MAH CET, which SIMSREE courses am I eligible for?

Ans. A 99 percentile in MAH CET makes you a strong candidate for the MMS program at SIMSREE, which offers specialisations in Finance, Marketing, HR, Operations, and Systems. Other programs like MMM and MFM require at least two years of work experience and are based on GD and PI, not entrance scores. Ph.D. admissions require qualifying JRF or PET.

Q4. Are non-Maharashtra students eligible for SIMSREE admissions?

Ans. Yes, candidates from outside Maharashtra are eligible to apply for the MMS course at SIMSREE under the All India category, which has 27 out of 180 total seats. Admissions are based on valid MAH CET, CAT, or CMAT scores, followed by GD and PI as part of the CAP Rounds. Applicants must also hold a Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks. The official SIMSREE and MAH CET portals provide detailed information on eligibility and the application process.

Q5. Between MAH CET and CMAT, which exam is more suitable for SIMSREE admission?

Ans. Both MAH CET and CMAT are equally accepted for MMS admission at SIMSREE. MAH CET is designed specifically for Maharashtra state institutes, whereas CMAT is a national-level exam. Both assess similar areas such as quantitative aptitude, verbal ability, and reasoning. Choose MAH CET if your focus is on institutes within Maharashtra, as it aligns directly with the CAP process. On the other hand, CMAT is preferable if you’re considering multiple B-schools across India.
