What is stoaMBA? What's the duration?
StoaMBA is India’s best alternative to the traditional MBA. We help young professionals get into business roles at high-growth startups. It is a 6-month long program and completely online
What is the program curriculum like?
The 6-month program covers live sessions on 18 modules - you can find the full list on the Program page. There are also detailed case studies, guest lectures on a wide variety of topics (industry-specific, career progression, networking) and extensive reading material. Program content is revised and updated every cohort to keep it relevant.
I work on the weekends. Should I join the program?
While some amount of learning happens every day, our live sessions, where the majority of learning happens are conducted on the weekends. The value of the program is not just the program material but also the peer to peer learning that happens within the cohort. If you work weekends and were to miss a majority of the sessions it is likely you wouldn't be able to maximise your value from the program.
Are there any exams or minimum passing marks in the program?
No, we're all adults here. There are no exams or standard evaluations. Rather you will be able to gauge your progressions through performance on the case weekends.
Who teaches at stoa?
We have folks who have worked in mid to senior-level roles at startups or built their own ventures coming in for our learning sessions. Some facilitators we’ve had in our previous cohorts are Rashi Mishra (Brand Lead at Supertails, ex-Acko Insurance), Sairam Krishnan (Marketer-in-Residence at Accel), Ajay Bohara (Co-founder at HDFC Credila), Adhiraj Arora, (Co-founder at School of Life, ex-BCG), Vaibhav Domkundwar (CEO at Better Capital) and Ishan Kansal (Head of Products at CRED).
What is the time commitment like?
StoaMBA is a weekend program specifically designed for working professionals. The live classes and case competitions on weekends usually take 7 to 8 hours. On weekdays, there are 2 community nights (on Tuesday and Thursday after work hours) for networking and general career/ industry sessions. These are not mandatory and we recommend attending them based on your interest areas. We also send daily prompts that take about 15 to 20 minutes to read. These are self-paced.
What happens if I miss a weekend class?
Recordings of the sessions are made available 48 hours after. However, we recommend that you attend at least 80% of the sessions.
I come from a non-business background. Will I be able to keep pace with the program?
Absolutely! The stoaMBA is a general management program and we approach all our sprints from a fundamental level. The daily prompts before the weekend sessions should provide all the context you need to keep pace with the sessions. Additional resources are also available for topics you may need more information on.
