Eligibility Criteria and Selection Process for the MBA Program at SME, IIT Jodhpur

1. Eligibility Criteria

A. Academic Background:

• Degree: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognised Indian university or institution.
• Duration: Minimum 3-year degree after 10+2.
• Final-year students: Eligible to apply provisionally, must submit all certificates and a provisional degree certificate within 2 months of joining.

B. Academic Performance:

• General/OBC/EWS: Minimum 60% marks in aggregate or 6.0 CGPA on a 10-point scale.
• SC/ST/PwD: Relaxation of 5% in the qualifying degree marks.

C. Entrance Exam:

• Valid score in the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management.

2. Selection Process

• Two-Step Process: Initial Shortlisting and Final Shortlisting.
• Initial Shortlisting: Based on a composite score considering CAT score, work experience, and gender diversity. CAT cutoffs may be applied based on application volume.
  • Work Experience: Full-time experience only. Experience in coaching centers, self-proprietary businesses, etc., will not be considered. 15+ days of work per month is counted as 1 month. Pay slips and relieving letters are mandatory.
• Final Shortlisting: Based on composite score and Personal Interview (virtual).

3. International Applicants

• Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognised foreign university. Degree equivalence verification through AIU.
• Intake: 10 candidates.
• Admission Process: Merit-based on GRE score of 300+ or GMAT score of 600+ achieved within the last 5 years.
• Fees: SAARC: USD 3500 per semester; Non-SAARC: USD 6000 per semester (additional fees for institute overheads, hostel, and mess).
• Application: Through Study in India Portal.

4. Candidates with Employment

• NOC: Required from employer if on study leave, sabbatical, or higher study leave. NOC should state either no objection to summer internship/placement elsewhere or confirmation that the candidate will intern with the employer and return after the program.

5. Important Dates

• Application: Online submission from December 31, 2024, to January 31, 2025 Extended- 24th February 2025
• Interviews: Tentatively begin from March 10, 2025.
• Note: Dates are tentative and subject to change. IIT Jodhpur reserves the right to modify selection criteria.
