Eligibility Criteria and Selection Process
Admission to the flagship MBA and MBA-Technology programs offered by the School of Management and Entrepreneurship (SME) is based on the following eligibility requirements and selection stages:

Note 1: In the first year, students complete core courses across multiple disciplines. In the second year, they may choose between the MBA or MBA-Technology track.

Note 2: Students who complete their first year at SME, IIT Jodhpur, may opt to pursue their second year at a partner B-school abroad (SUNY Albany, Brandeis International Business School, George Washington University, Case Western Reserve University), leading to an International Dual Degree.
1. Eligibility Criteria
A. Academic Qualification
-
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification awarded by a recognized university/institution (as per UGC/legislative guidelines).
-
The degree must include at least three years of education after 10+2 or equivalent.
Note:
Final-year students may apply. If selected, they will be admitted provisionally and must:
-
Submit all academic records up to the latest completed semester/year.
-
Provide a provisional degree certificate within two months of joining.
Failure to meet these conditions will lead to cancellation of admission.
B. Minimum Marks Requirement
For General/OBC/EWS applicants:
-
60% aggregate marks, OR
-
6.0 CGPA on a 10-point scale.
Relaxations for SC/ST/PwD:
-
5% relaxation in marks (for the 60% criterion), OR
-
0.5 relaxation (for the 6.0 CGPA criterion).
These relaxations apply only for eligibility.
C. Entrance Exam Requirement

A valid CAT 2025 score is mandatory.
2. Admission Process
A. Initial Shortlisting
Candidates are shortlisted using a composite score based on:

Important Notes:

CAT cut-offs (overall and/or sectional) may be applied depending on application volume.

The following types of work experience will NOT be considered:
-
Coaching centres, self-run or small-scale businesses (retail shops, Kirana stores, NGOs, petrol pumps, etc.)

Internships, apprenticeships, or unpaid work
-
-
Work experience must be supported by experience letters and first & last salary slips.
-
Experience is counted only if ≥ 15 days per month (less than 15 days will not be considered).
-
The cut-off date for calculating experience is the application start date.
-
The institute holds full discretion regarding the validity of work experience.
B. Final Shortlisting
Shortlisted candidates will be called for a Personal Interview (virtual mode).
The final selection will be based on:

Relaxations for reserved categories will be applied as per Ministry of Education guidelines.
3. Eligibility & Process for International Applicants
A. Eligibility

Degree equivalence may be verified through the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
B. Selection

Admission is merit-based.

Candidates must have:

GRE score of 300+, or
-
GMAT score of 600+,
obtained within the last 5 years.

4. Applicants Applying While Employed
Candidates on study leave/sabbatical/higher study leave must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer.
The NOC must:

Either permit the candidate to participate in external internships/placements, OR
-
Specify that the internship must be completed only with the current employer, and that the candidate must return after completing the program.
