Bachelor of Mass Communication

Course Type: Full Time

Duration: 3 years / 6 Semesters

Curriculum Objective:

The world is swiftly driving into a new era of fast changing information and communication technologies. Invariably, media education has responded to the changing needs of the society by upgrading its content at a faster pace. The objective of this course is to:

  • Provide broader vision of education, in-depth knowledge and understanding of the mass media.
  • Bestow students with a unique combination of strategic and tactical knowledge of communication.
  • Empower students with a range of skills and a high-level intellectual and professional competence; focusing specifically on verbal, written and analytical skills.

Eligibility:

  • Higher Secondary School Certificate (10 + 2) from recognised Board.

Master of Degree Programmes

M.A. in Journalism

Course Nature: Full Time

Duration: 2 years / 4 Semesters

Curriculum Objectives:

The focus of the course curriculum is primarily focused on print journalism along with covering electronic and new emerging media. This course has been especially designed to:

  • Familiarize the students with the working of different media like print, electronic & New Media.
  • Inculcate working skills needed for different mediums of communication like Newspapers, Magazines, Radio, Television & Web Journalism.
  • To develop research attitude and research skills to understand media and to deliver the skills practically.
  • Grow practical understanding of development and its relationship with media.
  • Help in enhancing writing skills for different formats used in media.
  • Understand the role of media in shaping up the society.
  • Imbibe students with human values, culture, development of society and environment etc. in relation to media industry.
  • Sharpen competence to supervise and guide the working of media.
  • Hone aptitude and competency skills to analyse and interpret happenings.

Course Type: Full Time

Duration: 2 years / 4 Semesters

The Course shall be a judicious blend of knowledge and skills and is aimed to:

  • Provide the students an in-depth insight of broadcast media and its relevance in rural and urban context.
