Periyar University Campus Facilities 

Periyar University campus address is in Periyar, Palkalai Nagar, Salem, in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The university campus is situated near the National Highway 7, which is about 7 km away from Salem city. The University is spread over 100 acres of land.

Periyar University campus is comprised of the administrative, library, students amenity centre, medical centre, bank, post office, hostels, guest rooms, internet centre and department buildings.

Periyar University Library was established in the same year in which the university was established, 1997. The library houses over  92,567 volumes of reference and textbooks on several disciplines, more than 180 international and national journals, subscription of 13 leading newspapers.

It aims to cater to all the needs of all the departments, PhD scholars, PG students, M.Phil. students, staff members of the University. The university library is divided into multiple sections like back volumes section, a reference section, theses dissertations section, textbook section, reprographic section, question banks, books for competitive examinations etc.

Periyar Maniammai University campus provides internet facility with 100 terminals for student usage. Besides, there is a student amenity centre that is well-stocked with printers, xerox facilities and stationery as well.

There is also a University Health Centre that functions within the campus for an emergency purpose. In order to provide proper medical facilities to the students, teaching and non-teaching staff, there is a medical officer available three days a week.

Along with these, it has an internet centre that caters to the needs of the students in browsing and mailing so that the scholars can download their research and course materials.

Further, the campus has a  branch of Canara Bank, which renders banking facilities to the students, teachers, staff. Alongside, there are AT’s of Canara Bank and State Bank of India available within the campus.

Periyar University also has a Post Office situated in PRIDE building, with an aim to avail all sorts of facilities like savings scheme etc. to its students, teachers and the general public.
