NIT Meghalaya Scholarships

Regardless of their financial situation or social standing, the NIT Meghalaya (Shillong) offers a number of scholarships to deserving students. Undergraduate/B.Tech Scholarships, Postgraduate Scholarships, MHRD Scholarships, Ph.D. Scholarships and Other Scholarships are some of the basic categories into which NIT Meghalaya’s scholarship programs are broken up. The following list includes a few of NIT Meghalaya’s well-known scholarship programs.

B.Tech Merit Scholarship:

  • According to their CGPA from the previous semester, the top 5% of deserving B.Tech students get the Merit Scholarship.
  • A student must have received a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 8.5 or higher in the preceding semester to qualify for the Merit Scholarship.
  • The B.Tech program’s chosen students earn roughly 40% of their tuition costs from the second semester onwards until the eighth semester as a scholarship award.
  • Additionally, a certificate of achievement will be given to the scholarship recipients.

Merit Cum Means Scholarship:

  • The top 5% of B.Tech. students from the non-creamy layer in each batch are given the Merit Cum Means Scholarship.
  • Students who can maintain a CGPA of 7.5 or higher and whose parents make an annual income of INR 4.5 lakhs are eligible to apply for the Merit Cum Means Scholarship.
  • The Merit Cum Means Scholarship program provides financial assistance equal to 40% of the tuition cost to the chosen students.
  • The Scholarship will be given out from the second semester of the B.Tech degree until the eighth semester.

Chinese Government Scholarship:

  • Under specific conditions, Chinese Government Scholarships are available to NIT Meghalaya students.
  • Candidates for admission to undergraduate programs should be under the age of 25, while those for master’s degree programs should be under the age of 35, and those for doctoral programs should be under the age of 40.
  • Additionally, the applicants must have received at least 60% of the necessary marks in their qualifications.

Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj Merit Scholarship:

  • Students who fall under the SC category and are residents of Maharashtra are given the Rajashri Shaju Maharaj Merit Scholarship.
  • The applicant’s annual family income cannot be higher than INR 4.5 lakhs.
  • Under this scholarship program, students are reimbursed for all of their tuition costs, including any required lodging and mess fees.
  • Additionally, the chosen individuals are given INR 10,000 years to spend on school supplies like notebooks and textbooks.
