NIT Goa Admission Process

NIT Goa is an institution of national importance. It has been ranked 18th among the top 100 colleges by NIRF in 2018. It is like a dream come true incident for many engineering aspirants to get admission in NIT Goa.

Like other NITs, NIT Goa is also very strict about its admission criteria and process. One must fulfil the eligibility criteria to increase the chances of securing a seat in this college.

NIT Goa Admission Highlights

  • To secure a seat in Bachelor of Technology courses, the candidates must pass 10+2 level examination with 75% average marks having Physics, Chemistry and Biology as main subjects. Preference is given to the top 20% of students from the respective board. The final selection is done on the basis of JEE score followed by JoSAA counselling. 
  • For getting admission in M.Tech, the applicants need to have a degree of BE or BTech in respective subjects of Engineering from a recognized university with minimum 60% (55% for SC/ST) marks or equivalent in the entrance examination. On the basis of GATE score followed by CCMT counselling, the students will get selected.
  • For NIT Goa PhD admission the candidates must have a degree of MSc or MTech in Engineering or Technology in the concerned subjects with a minimum 6.5 CGPA (6 CGPA for SC/ST) on a 10-point scale or 60% (55% for SC/ST) average marks in both Master’s as well as Bachelor’s levels from a recognized University. Through a written test and an interview, conducted by the institute the final selection will be done. Admission Procedure

UG Course

To get admission in B.Tech course the candidates must pass 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with 75% marks. The top 20% of the respective board will get preference. On the basis of JEE Main rank followed by the counselling, the final selection is done.

To secure a seat in its any one of the three M.Tech programmes, the applicants must have a degree at the undergraduate level of Engineering or Technology from a recognized university with a minimum 60% (55% for SC/ST) mark for the General category or equivalent in the entrance examination. On the basis of GATE score followed by CCMT counselling, the final selection is done.

Doctoral Course

For getting admission in the PhD course at its research level programmes, the aspirants must have an MSc or MTech degree in Engineering or Technology in the respective discipline with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 (6 CGPA for SC/ST) out of a 10-point scale or 60% (55% for SC/ST) average marks in both Masters and Bachelors levels from a recognized University. The final selection is done on the basis of an entrance examination followed by an interview.
