Admission to IIM Mumbai in 2024

Admissions for MBA programs at IIM Mumbai will be live shortly. IIM Mumbai’s flagship programs till 2023 were PGDIE and PGDIM, which were equivalent to the M.Tech and MBA degrees, respectively. Since changing to IIM Mumbai, the institution now offers 3 MBA programs, viz. MBA, MBA (Sustainability Management) and MBA (Operations and Supply Chain Management). IIM Mumbai course admissions for MBA programs is based on CAT scores followed by group discussions and personal interviews, with previously IIM Mumbai’s CAT cutoff being 97 percentile. The IIM Mumbai Admission Criterias of selection for both courses depends on the candidate’s performance in the group discussion and personal interview.

Apart from these flagship programs, IIM Mumbai also offers admission to PGDEx-VLFM, FPM, and certificate courses. IIM Mumbai also offers PGDEx in Visionary Leadership for Manufacturing (PGDEx-VLFM) specifically designed for experienced engineers with 4-10 years of experience in the manufacturing sector. Approximately 30 students are shortlisted every year for this course based on an online interview round or aptitude test conducted by the institute.

IIM Mumbai Course Admissions 2024 for MBA Programs

IIM Mumbai offers two-year full-time MBA programs, viz. MBA, MBA (Sustainability Management) and MBA (Operations and Supply Chain Management). MBA (Operations and Supply Chain Management) offers specialisations in Operations & Supply Chain Management, Marketing, Finance, HR, and Information Systems & Business Strategy. 

To be eligible for IIM Mumbai course admissions to the MBA (Operations and Supply Chain Management PROGRAM at NITIE, Mumbai, applicants must have a BE/B.Tech degree in any branch with a minimum of 50% aggregate from a recognised university or equivalent. Aspirants with a  graduate degree in M.Sc. (Mathematics),  M. Sc. (Statistics), Dual Degree (Maths and Computing) Minimum 5 yrs can also apply. Students must also have a valid CAT score. Students appearing for their final year engineering exams are also eligible to apply.

The CAT score is used to shortlist candidates for the MBA programs. International students are selected based on their IELTS/TOEFL scores and must have a minimum of 60% in their qualifying degree. Shortlisted candidates are required to attend a group discussion followed by a personal interview at the IIM Mumbai campus.

In addition to the flagship courses, IIM Mumbai course admissions to other courses like  PGDEx-VLFM, DGMP, Doctoral and certificate courses. The PGDEx in Visionary Leadership for Manufacturing (PGDEx–VLFM) is designed for experienced engineers with 4-10 years of experience in the manufacturing sector. Selection to PGDEx-VLFM is based on Online application (Leadership Profiling), Aptitude Test and Personal Interview.

For the PGDEx-VLFM program:

  • Seats are available for sponsored candidates from reputed organisations across the globe.
  • Sponsored candidates should meet the IIM Mumbai Admission Criteria as mentioned above followed by the admission process.
  • Sponsored candidates should fill out the Sponsorship Form available on the IIM Mumbai course admissions portal and attach the letter of sponsorship from their organisation.

International Applicants:

To apply for IIM Mumbai course admissions, international students must submit their GRE scores along with TOEFL or IELTS scores. Additionally, they must have a minimum of 60% in their qualifying degree. The evaluation process also takes into account the Letters of Recommendation (LORs) and Statement of Purpose (SOPs) submitted by the students. Those who meet the criteria are shortlisted for an interview, which may be conducted either in person or via video call.

IIM Mumbai course admissions 2024 for PGDEX-VLFM

IIM Mumbai provides a one-year postgraduate program, PGDEX-VLFM, designed for executives aspiring to become visionary leaders in the manufacturing sector. The program has a limited number of seats with a total of 25 available.

Eligibility for IIM Mumbai PGDEX-VLFM

  • Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree with a first-class grade in  technological (B.E. or B.Tech.) discipline
  • Candidates should have at least 4 to 10 years of experience in the manufacturing sector.

IIM Mumbai Admission Criteria for PGDEX-VLFM Selection

The selection process for IIM Mumbai’s PGPEX-VLFM program involves Online application (Leadership Profiling), Aptitude Test and Personal Interview.

The IIM Mumbai Admission Criteria (NITIE) involve multiple stages, including:

  1. Application Process: Interested candidates are required to submit their applications for the MBA program.

  2. Shortlisting: Applicants are shortlisted based on their performance in the Common Admission Test (CAT) and meeting the specified IIM Mumbai Admission Criteria.

  3. Personal Interview (PI) Process: Shortlisted candidates are invited to the IIM Mumbai (NITIE) campus for Personal Interviews. This stage may also involve other components such as Group Discussions (GD) or Written Ability Test (WAT), depending on the institute’s specific requirements.

  4. Final Selection: The final selection is based on a composite score, taking into consideration various factors such as academic records, CAT scores, relevant work experience, gender diversity, and performance in the PI process.

Guidelines for Online Application:

Before applying for the Programme/s kindly read the instructions carefully given below:

1. Kindly ensure that you fill in all the required information accurately on the registration form to obtain your User ID and Password. Your CAT-2023 registration number will serve as your User ID, and the system will generate your password.

2. Your registered email ID and mobile number will be used for admission-related communication.

3. Candidates can apply for one or multiple programs simultaneously by selecting the checkbox of the program(s) they wish to apply for. Before doing so, please check the eligibility and the associated fees for each application.

Eligibility for MBA Programme:

The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PwD) categories], awarded by any University or educational institution as incorporated by an Act of Parliament or State legislature in India or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognised by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

Students in the final year of the above degree can also apply subject to the following conditions:

a. Provided they qualify the above criteria for examinations appeared till date.

b. Complete their examination, viva voce etc, by the time of joining the Institute.

AND

Applicants should take the Common Admission Test (CAT-2023) conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) to apply for the programs.

Eligibility for MBA in Operation and Supply Chain Management (OSCM) Programme:

Full-time Engineering/Technology degree in any branch from a recognized university/institution with aggregate 50% marks (relaxed by 5% for SC/ST/PwD candidates). OR Full-time degree from a recognized university with aggregate 50% marks (relaxed by 5% for SC/ST/PwD candidates) in the following disciplines.

M.Sc. (Mathematics)

M.Sc. (Statistics)

Dual Degree (Maths and Computing) Minimum 5 yrs.

BS./B. Tech (Economics) Minimum 4 yrs.

Students in the final year of the above degree can also apply subject to the following conditions:

a. Provided they qualify the above criteria for examinations appeared till date.

6. Already Registered: If you have already registered, log in to the portal using your User ID (CAT registration number) and the password provided to your registered email address.

7. Multiple Applications: A different application number will be generated for each program you’ve selected. You only need to update the application form and same will be updated in other. Candidates who apply for multiple programmes must pay their respective programme fees separately.

8. Final Submission: Before proceeding to the final submission, verify your applications carefully for each program to ensure that your provided information and documents are correctly updated.

10. Payment Issues: If you have made a payment but cannot view payment details or update your application, kindly raise your query in “Help Desk”. Be sure to provide your user ID and payment details.
