National Institute of Fashion Technology, Bangalore was established in 1986. Under the Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India, this institute was set up in Bangalore. NIFT Bangalore Admission Process

All the applicants are admitted to the fashion courses on UG, PG and doctorate level on the basis of the marks scored in the qualifying exam. These qualifying exams include CAT (Creative Ability Test) and GAT (General Ability Test). B. F. Tech, MFM and M. F. Tech candidates have to get certain scores in GAT exam. 

The certain CAT score is required by the B. Des and M. Des candidates. The CAT and GAT exam are followed by a group discussion (GD) round. GD is followed by the personal interview round.

Final selection of the candidates depends on the overall marks scored in the qualifying exam, group discussion and personal interview round.
