The Management Development Institute, Gurgaon is one of the most exclusive management schools in India. Not only does the institute provide quality education but they also guarantee placement after completing the degree. The average placement package at MDI is worth nearly INR 20 lakhs, per annum

The admission process at MDI Gurgaon is an extensive one. It is available both online and offline. The institute has basic eligibility criteria for each course. The criteria for both the Post Graduate and the Executive Post Graduate Programmes is that the applicant must have scored at least 50% marks on aggregate in their Bachelor’s degree programme. When it comes to the fellowship programme, the candidate must have completed their Master’s degree with at least 55% marks. The Public Policy programme insists that the applicant be an officer of All India Services or Central Services with seven years of “Group A” service. For State Civil Service officers, the criterion is that they must have provided at least nine years of “Group A” service.

In case of the PGPs and the E-PGPs, should the candidate match the minimum eligibility criteria required by the institute, they have to submit their valid scores for any of the National Level Management Entrance Examinations (NLMEE). A cutoff list is prepared by the institute and those who match the criteria are invited for a round of group discussion and personal interview.

  • The admission to the PGPM, PGP-HRM, PGP-IM is done on the basis of the candidate’s NLMEE scores followed by their performance in the GD and PI rounds.
  • The NPM and PGPEM admission is done through CAT/ GMAT scores followed by an interview.
  • For admission to FPM, the prospects are shortlisted through their NLMEE score followed by a Personal Interview conducted by the institute.
  • In the case of Part-Time PGPM, the candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their performance in the Written Test and Interview.
  • For completing the registration process, the candidates are required to make an online payment of INR 2596 (Incl. of 18% GST) using a Credit card, Debit card or Net Banking.

MDI Admission Process 2019

The following table breaks down the eligibility criteria and selection procedure for the various courses offered by MDI Gurgaon.

PGP-PPM The candidate must be an officer of All India Services or Central Services and they must have put in at least seven years of Group “A” categorised service.

The State Civil Service Officers who are applying must have put in at least nine years of Group “A” service.

PGP-IM The candidate must have obtained at least 50% marks or its equivalent value in CGPA in both 10 and 12 levels along with a Masters or a Bachelors degree (4 years minimum) with at least 50% marks. The candidate’s eligibility is judged on the basis of their CAT or equivalent exam’s score followed by a round of group discussion and personal interview.
PGP-EM, NMP The candidate must have at least a minimum of three years of Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in any discipline from a recognised university. It is recommended that the candidate have post qualification executive work experience of at least five years as of December of the current year. The candidate’s eligibility is judged on the basis of their CAT or equivalent exam’s score followed by a round of group discussion and personal interview.
FPM The candidate must have a Master’s degree programme with a minimum of 60% marks or an equivalent GPA with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification. Alternatively, the candidate can have a five-year integrated (Bachelor’s+Master’s) degree in any discipline with at least 60% marks. The candidate’s eligibility is judged on the basis of their performance in the NLMEE of their choice followed by a round of personal interview.
