LPU Scholarships
Lovely Professional University firmly believes that financial limitations should not hinder a student’s access to quality education. Therefore, the University provides a comprehensive Scholarship Scheme based on various criteria. Scholarships are available for all programs offered by the University, ranging from Diploma to Ph.D. In the previous year alone, students were awarded scholarships worth over INR 100 crores.
Scholarships are awarded based on the performance of candidates in the following categories:
- Percentage in the qualifying examination/ Percentage in the previous qualification prior to the eligibility qualification, and toppers in State and Central Boards.
- Performance/Rank in certain National Level Entrance Tests: LPU offers scholarships for various programs based on the performance or rank achieved in the following National Level Entrance Tests::

Scholarships are also awarded based on performance in Sports, Co-curricular activities, Cultural activities, Research and Development (R&D), Social Service, and National Bravery Awards. Additionally, LPU offers scholarships through its Entrance and Scholarship Test, LPUNEST. The scholarship amount for a specific program depends on the performance in LPUNEST and is divided into three categories:
- LPUNEST score equal to or higher than the Category I cut-off.
- LPUNEST score equal to or higher than the Category II cut-off.
- LPUNEST score equal to or higher than the Category III cut-off.
The scholarship applicable for all programs is categorised as follows:
Group 1: This category includes programs such as Engineering and Architectural Assistantship Diploma, B.Sc. Hons., B.Com., B.Sc. (Hons.) Economics, B.A./ BPA (Music Vocal/ Theatre), B.A./ B.A. (Hons.), Int. B.A.-B.Ed., Int. B.Sc.-B.Ed., Diploma in Library & Information Sciences, UG Physical Education Programs, M.Com., M.Sc. Economics, M.Sc. Hotel Management, M.Arch. Executive (Part-Time), M.Plan., M.Design, M.Sc. (Design), M.Sc. (Film and T.V. Production), M.A. (Journalism and Mass Communication), M.A. (Music Vocal), M.A. English, M.A. Public Administration, M.A. Psychology, M.A. Clinical Psychology, M.A. Sociology, M.A. History, M.A. Political Science, M.Sc. Group 2: This category includes programs such as Diploma in Business Administration, Diploma in Medical Lab. Technology, B.Tech. (excluding CSE programs), BCA, B.Sc. (Forensic Sciences, Food Technology, Nutrition, and Dietetics, Biotechnology, Microbiology), BBA, Hotel Management, B.Arch., B.Plan., B.Design, B.Sc. (Design), B.A.-LL.B., BBA-LL.B., Bachelor of Fine Arts, B.A. (Fine Arts), B.A. (Journalism and Mass Communication), BPT, B.Sc. MLT, MBA (except MBA with Talentedge), MFA, M.A. (Punjabi), M.A. (Hindi), MCA, and MPT.
Group 3: This category is specifically for B.Tech. Computer Science & Engineering programs, Under Graduate Agriculture Program, BCA Hons., BBA Hons., B.Com Hons., B.Pharm., B.Pharm. (Lateral Entry), Post Graduate Agriculture Programs, M.Pharm Programs, and M.Sc. (Clinical Embryology).
Scholarships are awarded based on the program category and the performance of the candidates.

LPU categorises admissions into different phases based on the registration time of applicants. The scholarship mentioned in the previous table applies to the first phase of admission. Subsequent phases of admission may be introduced based on seat availability, and the scholarship amount may be reduced accordingly.
Scholarships are awarded to candidates based on their performance on any of the following categories:

- Certain National Level Tests (like JEE (Mains), NEET, UCEED, CAT, MAT, GATE, GPAT, MAT etc.)
- Scholarship based on Innovation, Startup & Entrepreneurship
- Performance in Sports, Cultural, R&D, Co-curricular, Social Service and Bravery Awards.
- Ph.D. programmes Scholarship

- Financial Aid

LPU implements different admission phases depending on the registration time of applicants. The scholarship mentioned in the previous table is applicable during the first phase of admission. Subsequent phases may be introduced based on seat availability, leading to a reduction in the scholarship amount.
Please note that the scholarship percentage for Hons./Integrated Programs will be the same as that of the corresponding regular program.
LPU also offers a special scholarship scheme for students who excel in Innovation, Startup, Entrepreneurship & Hackathons. This scheme aims to encourage students to pursue their creative endeavors and follow their dreams.
The scholarship will be granted based on the students’ achievements in the past two years, particularly at the international or national level. The final decision on the scholarship policy will be made by the selection committee.
For Ph.D. admissions, the scholarship categories are determined by the performance in LPUNEST (Ph.D.). The cut-off scores for each category will be announced along with the results during the respective schedule. Please refer to the table below for the scholarship details:

Please take note that applicants who are eligible for test exemption (LPUNEST (Ph.D.)) based on their performance in UGC (NET/JRF), CSIR (NET/JRF), ICAR (JRF/SRF), SLET (Punjab only), GATE, GPAT, ICAR (NET), or holders of Teacher Fellowship, or those who have completed the M.Phil. Program in Regular mode, have the option to appear for the LPUNEST (Ph.D.) test to avail the scholarships mentioned above. The scholarship results for Ph.D. applicants will be announced along with the Ph.D. Interview results.
Scholarships, ranging up to 90% of the program fee, are offered to research associates in centrally funded labs, professionals working in industry/corporate/teaching, and candidates with notable research achievements.

Please note that special scholarships and/or fee concessions are not subject to scholarship brackets or phases.
Scholarship Brackets: There are three brackets of scholarships (Bracket 1, 2, and 3) defined for each category. Each bracket has its own set of criteria that must be fulfilled to be eligible for the corresponding scholarship. Students meeting the requirements of Bracket 1 receive the highest scholarship, while those in Bracket 2 or 3 receive relatively lesser scholarships.
Scholarship Phases: Admissions at LPU are conducted in different phases, which are time periods divided for the admission process. The amount of scholarship awarded also depends on the phase in which the candidate takes admission. Phase-I begins in January 2022 and continues until the end of April 2022. Subsequent phases (Phase-II, III, IV, V) are conducted only if there are vacant seats in the respective program. The scholarship amount decreases with each phase, and no scholarships are offered in Phase-V (if conducted).
