Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad Overview
JNTUH, short for the public university Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad, is one of the best universities in the country. The courses offered by this university is mainly focused on engineering subjects. It is located in Hyderabad, Telangana, India.
JNTU Hyderabad was founded in the year 1965 as a college, which was later established as a university in 1972, named Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University.
JNTU University Hyderabad offers around 24 undergraduate courses in B.Tech programs, some of the major ones being Aeronautical Engineering, Automobile, Biotechnology, Information Technology, Electronics, etc. JNTU Hyderabad courses on the PG level include
Integrated 5-year dual degree Masters programme or M.Tech. Programmes in 68 disciplines, M.Pharm. in 11 disciplines, M.Sc. in 10 disciplines. In addition to that, it offers MCA, MBA and Double Degree Programmes at P.G. level.
Apart from that, it also provides M.S., M.Phil., PhD Research Programmes in various disciplines of Engineering, Technology, Science, Management and Humanities.
According to the JNTU act under which the university was established, it was divided into four universities, JNTUH being one of them. Ranked at 45th by NIRF, in the engineering ranking for the year of 2019, the alumni of the university have only good things to say about the infrastructure and the education procedure itself.
Approved by UGC, this university has NAAC accreditation of A grade. Outlook India has placed JNTUH at 41st rank in 2018, in its list of top 75 Engineering Colleges in India. The campus size of JNTUH is sprawled across 89 acres of land.
The faculty members of the university are experienced in their subjects and provide their students with best course materials. At present, the university employs 276 faculty members and accepts 730 students of the total for all of their courses. All the faculty members of this institute have years of experience in their respective fields.
JNTU Hyderabad Courses offered and Fee Structure
The university mainly offers undergraduate and post-graduate courses in Engineering and technological branches. They offer full-time courses in B.Tech and M.Tech. JNTU College of Engineering Hyderabad fee structure is given on their official website.
- JNTU Hyderabad courses are offered at UG level in 21 subjects including, but not limited to, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical, Automobile, Biotechnology, Information Technology, Electronics, Instrumentation and Control, Metallurgy, Electrical, Bio-medical, Chemical and Civil Engineering.
- The University also offers M.Tech degree programmes in 64 disciplines, the courses are Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Remote-Sensing and GIS, Mechanical Engineering, Nano-Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Water Resources, Energy Systems, Environmental Studies, Microbiology, Food Technology, Management, Computer Applications etc.
- JNTUH offers 5-year integrated courses for the aspirants who are looking for a dual degree in Master's programme. The integrated courses, however, are only offered in 10 disciplines from the M.Tech/M.B.A/M.S programmes.
JNTU Hyderabad Admission Process
The JNTUH admission process starts with candidates appearing for a qualifying exam. The Telangana State Council of Higher Education, Hyderabad, conducts the qualifying exam, Engineering, Agriculture & Medicine common entrance test (EAMCET) for admission of B.Tech courses.
If the candidates are three-year diploma holders and have an Engineering Common Entrance Test (ECET) ranking, they can apply to get into the B.Tech programme in JNTUH as well.
The admission into postgraduate programmes in M.Tech is normally made with the rankings of GATE or PGECET/GPAT /ICET ranking. All these exams are conducted by the Telangana State Council of Higher Education, Hyderabad.
A candidate needs to qualify an entrance exam conducted by the university itself to get into regular M.Sc. programmes.
- For JNTU Hyderabad admission 2019 on Undergraduate level B.tech courses, candidates are selected on the basis of TS-EAMCET entrance exam scores.
- For M.tech admission, all students are shortlisted by GATE or GPAT or TS-PGECET scores in the qualifying examination in the respective order of preference.
- For admission in doctoral-level PhD courses, candidates are admitted to the course based on marks in the written entrance test and followed by the interview.
JNTU Hyderabad Placement
The JNTUH has a good reputation for their students acquiring job placements in various private and public organisations. There are also many international organisations that conduct placement drives on the campus.
The university also has Memoranda of Understanding with various national and international organisations, colleges and universities, meaning there is a chance for students to be selected into those organisations, or go on a student exchange programmes in one of the colleges and universities participating in MoU.

JNTU Hyderabad Result and Cut off
JNTUH selects its student from various entrance exams conducted by EAMCET, ECET, GATE for admission in B.tech, B.tech Lateral and M.tech respectively.
There is always a rise and drop in the JNTU Hyderabad results and cut-off. For B.Tech admissions, the student has to appear for EAMCET and for M.Tech student has to appear for the GATE or PGECET or GPAT or ICET.
JNTU Hyderabad M Tech GATE cutoff is declared after GATE cut off marks are released. JNTU results can vary each year depending on various factors like availability of seats, a number of applicants, the difficulty level of entrance exams etc.

JNTU Hyderabad Scholarship
A renowned university from a long time, with a strong alumni base, the university provides scholarships to students belonging from economically backward classes.
If a candidate gets admission under the regular stream and if they have qualified the GATE exam, an AICTE scholarship will be provided to them.
To be admitted under the sponsored category, the candidate must have a working experience of two years, and the employer organisation should sponsor them for the course.
While to get admission into the non-sponsored category, the candidates must qualify GATE and PGECET, however, they are not eligible for AICTE scholarship.
The administration also has a good reputation for helping students to acquire a student loan from banks. With an excellent fee structure for students from the unreserved category, it is quite affordable. Students from SC ST category can also avail scholarship from various government schemes.
