Scholarships

IMI Kolkata Scholarship:

IMI Kolkata offers several scholarship schemes and fee-waiver / financial-aid options to support deserving and needy students. Key options include:

Types of Scholarships & Waivers

  • 100% Tuition Waiver (Merit-based) — Students with outstanding academic records (strong past academics + high percentile scores in entrance exams) may be eligible for a full tuition-fee waiver, typically for the first year (and subject to renewal for the second year after performance review).

  • Need-based Aid for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) — Students whose family income is below a specified threshold may apply for tuition-fee waiver / financial support under EWS quotas (subject to documentation and approval).

  • Merit-based Scholarships & Grants — Based on entrance exam performance (CAT/XAT/CMAT/GMAT) or academic excellence, some scholarships or fee reductions are awarded.

  • Interim / Academic-Performance Scholarships — For students who perform very well in Year 1, additional scholarship support (partial or fixed amount) may be awarded for the second year.

  • Special-Category / Diversity / Other-Based Aid — Scholarships or fee concessions may also be provided to students from under-represented backgrounds, special social categories, or those with other merits (for instance, extracurricular achievements, sports, defence/armed-forces background, etc.), depending on institute policy.

Who Can Apply

  • High-performing students (merit + high entrance exam percentile)

  • Students from low-income families (EWS background)

  • Students excelling academically during studies at IMI Kolkata (for interim/renewal scholarships)

  • Students meeting special-category or diversity / background criteria (where applicable)

Key Conditions & Important Notes

  • For EWS / income-based scholarships — students must submit valid income proof (e.g. tax returns, income certificate) when requested.

  • Merit-based full tuition waiver or fee reduction is often limited to a certain percentage of total intake.

  • Renewal or continuation of waiver/scholarship may depend on academic performance and fulfillment of institute’s criteria in successive semesters.

  • Students on corporate/organisation sponsorship may not be eligible for placement assistance (but may still be eligible for financial aid depending on rules).
