IMED Pune provides an opportunity for admission into its two-year full-time MCA Program. The admission process for this program is based on the BMAT Entrance Exam.
IMED Pune MCA Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for admission to the MCA program at IMED Pune, candidates must meet one of the following qualifications:
- BCA or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering or an equivalent field with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates).

IMED Pune MCA Selection Criteria
The selection process for the MCA program at IMED Pune is based on the BMAT (Bharati Vidyapeeth MCA Entrance Test). Admissions are conducted purely on the basis of merit in the entrance exam and the availability of seats.
One seat, in addition to the sanctioned intake of the program, is reserved for migrants from J&K, provided they have appeared in the BMAT.
15% of the seats are reserved for candidates under the Foreign/NRI/P.I.O/OCI/Management merit category. Candidates applying under this category need to submit a separate application to The Registrar, Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), Pune, India.
Candidates who are in the final year of their Bachelor’s degree can also appear for the entrance test and apply for the MCA program. However, they are eligible for admission only if they complete all semesters/years of their degree by a specified date.
Seats that remain vacant after allotment to Foreign/NRI/PIO/OCI/Merit students will be allocated to Indian students under the Management category based on merit.
IMED Pune BBA & BCA Admission 2023
IMED Pune provides full-time undergraduate programs in BBA and BCA, both of which have a duration of 3 years. The BBA program has a seat intake of 180, while the BCA program has a seat intake of 120.
IMED Pune BCA/BBA Admission Requirements
To be eligible for the full-time BBA/BCA program at IMED Pune, candidates must have successfully completed their HSC or 10+2 education from a recognized board. Students who are currently appearing for their board exams are also eligible to apply.
IMED Pune BCA/BBA Selection Process
The selection of candidates for the BBA and BCA programs is based on the BUMAT (Bharati Vidyapeeth Undergraduate Management Aptitude Test) conducted by Bharati Vidyapeeth. Admissions are granted based on the merit of the entrance exam results and the availability of seats.
In the case where multiple candidates secure the same marks in the Entrance Test, their ranking will be determined by their percentage of marks obtained in SSC (Secondary School Certificate) or its equivalent. If the percentage of marks at the SSC level is also the same, the candidates will be ranked using a computerized random numbering system.

IMED Pune provides two types of MBA programs, namely the General MBA and MBA-HR program. Both programs have a duration of two years.
IMED Pune MBA Eligibility
To be eligible for admission to the MBA programs at IMED Pune, candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates). Candidates in their final year of graduation are also eligible to apply.

IMED Pune Ph.D Admission 2023
IMED Pune offers a full-time PhD Program in Management at the doctoral level. The program has a duration of three years.
IMED Pune has specific eligibility criteria for admission to its full-time PhD program. Candidates must have completed their Post Graduation in a relevant stream with a minimum aggregate of 55% from a recognized University. Reserved category students are given a 5% relaxation, requiring a minimum aggregate of 50%.
The selection process for the PhD program at IMED Pune involves ‘The All India Entrance Test’ conducted by Bharati Vidyapeeth. Admissions are based on the merit of the candidates in the entrance exam, as well as seat availability. Once selected, candidates are required to participate in an interview.
However, candidates who have appeared for UGC-NET (including JRF/AYUSH-NET)/ UGC – CSIR NET (including JRF/SLET/ GATE/ GPAT/ Project Fellows / Teacher fellowship or DST inspire fellowship, DBT fellowship, or Quality improvement program (QIP)/ National Doctoral Fellowship Scheme (NDF) or have passed M.Phil. are exempted from the entrance test. These candidates will still need to attend an interview as part of the selection process.
The PhD entrance test at IMED Pune follows a specific pattern. The ‘All India Entrance Test’ carries 50% weightage for Research Methodology and 50% weightage for the prescribed syllabus of respective subjects. The test is conducted for a duration of 3 hours and has a total of 100 marks.
To qualify for admission, candidates must score a minimum of 50% marks in the entrance test (with a relaxation of 5% for SC/ST/differently-abled candidates, i.e., 45% marks). Candidates who score 50% or more will be eligible for the interview round.
The entrance test is conducted in English and consists of two sections. Section 1 focuses on Research Methodology and carries 50 marks, while Section 2 is based on the respective subject and also carries 50 marks. Each section comprises 7 questions, and candidates need to attempt any 5. The syllabus for both sections is available on the university’s website.
Additionally, selected candidates will be required to appear for an interview, which carries 50 marks. During the interview, candidates are expected to present their research area/interest through a presentation.
